As the title states but literaly not really gona die but the wait is absolutly killin me I look at these awsome flowers (never grew anything like it)...

I started with a really shitty strain that made me doubt what color my thunb was untill I gifted a few to a buddy and he had the same results under a 1k bulb I was running a 250 so I naturaly figured it was my set up and figured I was fucked cause I can't afford a big boy set up nore the cost to run it... but then wewent to okland and I got cherry pie from dark heart nursery at harbor side along with fire og and purp caddy but they went home with my buddy and we swaped cuts when they were old enough... but to cut to the chase now that u know the deal this was damn near 3 months ago if not more( I swear it been a year) and I'm finally in week 6 of 8 I belive... I've got clear cloudy trics with the random cats eye and few solid amber here and there so I'm commin up on harvest(thank god its been forever) and I really need to sample a taste of this beauty I've never smoked the pie or cookies and I wana know what I'm gettn ready for... my question is what branch should I take a nug is not gona do or should I take a few flowers verz a whole branch?

Here are a few pix of the whole plant and a close up of one nug any opinons on which I should do I've never been so impatient before but its something I've never had just heard about please help a fellow conni out....

i would source smoke elsewhere and let the plant properly finish....
however there are those "mishaps" in the grow room where lowers are picked early to be tested.... as i said lowers.... this is my personal opinion but i have noticed on certain strains that lower nugs develop quicker and can be harvested earlier than the rest of the plant..
I forget the actual word for this but its like a gradual harvest letting certain colas or buds stay on the plant longer, this can also help u dial in ur strain and how u like it best... for example say when u chop at 58 days u get a real spacey racy type high, however if left to go 70 days then chop u cant move off the couch, the trichome development is key to knowing the actual maturation of your buds....

It's definitely worth it to wait...

Downsides to cutting early include:

Tastes like fertilizer and chlorophyl
Short, SHORT duration of effects when smoked
Decreased yield

Don't shoot yourself in the foot, get some other meds like chaseaftaracksy suggested. :D

most of those cuts need 9 weeks, fire could go for 10. cutting early means decreased potency, decreased flavor, harsher smoke, and less yeild. some strains like jacks cleaner can be cut at 56 days and have lemon candyness but day 70 their almost twice as big. if u harvest your og at 8 weeks you wasted your 3 months cause you couldnt wait a week, really good stuff if you let it finish.

Awww u guys are killin me I know for a fact I should wait I was just hopin on a whim some one would convince me but thank you for tellin me what I already knew and what I shouldn't do I just needed some fellow growers advise that I'm a dipshit for thinking of hackin a branch.... again thank you....

The stems of all the fans are super deep purple.. but isn't the purple color in the flower a temp. Thing? Or is it the strain?

genetic usually.. but certain plants will turn colors wen the flower temp is low.. like 60s

That cherrypie looks cherry. I'd take that bottom nug in the middle of the plant picture and let it dry for a couple days...just dont microwave it

I've seen pix of the pie with purple colors and bright orange hairs that are super thick... I know she's got a purple strain in her but thought it was a low tempture thing late in flower... and I'm in a shead out side and stays pretty warm so I'm not expecting verymuch if any color besides the standard green and orange... and the fan leaf stems that are nice deep purple sem to only be on the older big ones the new stuff is just a bit on the light green side prob from a nitrogen def but they are on 7 of 8 from what I understand about her and the trichs are basically all cloudy with few cat eye ambers in there, and they are gaining weight like a freshman collage chick that's. Home sick lol. Doubbling there size and denisity... just used the peak last night so I'm courious to see how much denser and frosty they can get I'm allready in aww with her.... and think if I shot one of these flowers at a window with a sling shot id break it they are perfectly dense golf balls...

My cut of CP purples on its own without temp swings... though lowering tmeps does seem to make the coloration a little more profound...

I just can't get over the smell though...

Hey Joe,
Mine start coloring around the 7 week mark prob... an that's in the 80*s, the tips of the leaves tinge purple, and there's a purplish blush to the calyxes, then if temps drop a lil, or if you let her go long enough, like 65 day ark she's really dark purple...and again that fucking smell!!

I can always tell when i brush up against her turning around in my grow spaces...the room instantly gets thick with that indescribable essence!!

Can't wait til she's done... couple more days...i will try to take some better pics before and after harvest for ya

I've a Sleeskunk that goes purple (ish) if it gets cold. Isn't it just chilly? Maybe purple is a push but it defo turns mottled towards people
