If you're legal and theyre on your property, if you catch someone call the authorities for trespassing(some here may be hesitant to call LEO in, but if you're legal and they're tresspassing to steal your crop, fuck 'em. We don't *need* to be against LEO, we're just forced to because of prohibition).

If you're legal on someone else's land or illegally growing, there's nothing you can really do. These are the downsides of guerilla growing. The only thing to do is learn a lesson about plot placement or just bad luck, and move on. Physically harming rippers is some shit to leave to the cartels. That's not supposed to be us.

^^ This, but I'm going to qualify it by mentioning that if you're in California, be mindful of who your local law enforcement is and what their stance on MMJ is. When it happened to us, we contacted a neighbor who's worked a few departments, including our local. He was very clear--if we call them then we could expect our shit to be examined very, very closely, with little attention or effort paid toward finding the ripper. We chose not to call local LE.

Now? Now they know who we are (local law enforcement) just as our county supervisors know who we are. That is the price of participation in the process. So, if I get ripped off, I actually no longer fear calling the police. Kinda weird, isn't it?

I agree, however, I live by this paradigm--what "should be" and what "is" are two different things.

We've tightened up our security a great deal and have had no problems since that episode.

Definitely, SM! It probably depends greatly on who your local officers are and who you are. A lot of police seem to have a chip on their shoulder regarding the medical system, but most police are good peoples. I think if we ever get medical the police here could be counted on.

Firstly The snake thing was a joke. And lets be clear, I was never in Veit Nam, I was a sailor.

Iceman, I would have to agree with you to a point. Doing bodily injury is never a good thing. Such things do indeed lead to highly negitive headlines and lends ill creedence to the MMJ cause.

However, to protect what is yours legally is not a crime.

Less than lithal means would be preffered and is what I advocate.

With that said, the individual doing the protecting has to make a judgement call as to what extent the risk to reward will be for confrontation of rippers. Though I conceed in the heat of the moment, rational thinking may not be in abundance.

For me and my small grow (3 plant), this is what I use to next year. I have not the means to replace what is growing should it get ripped (which I fear every night as of late) so my crop is indeed very valuable to me.

However, say shotting a ripper over 3 plants will never happen. The cost of the lawyer to get you off...if they can is well beyond the cost of what I smoke in a year.

Bear mace is a good alternative I think.

Whats it worth to you the grower.

Conversely, whats it worth to the ripper?

i'm not gonna use the sarcasm font on this one sterling because i'm not being sarcastic. just throwing out a point of view

back in the day when we were teenagers we would not have had the balls to jack a "grown ups" crop. we understood and respected the fact that if we got caught in there we would end up on the back of a milk carton.

IMHO when people (including children and teenagers) understood "don't do the crime if you can't do the time" things were easier. life is all about respect and respect is not part of the lesson plan anymore.

It sounds to me like kids, they would typically stomp what they couldn't take, laughing all the way. Inflicting injury as great as the fantasy is, will end you up in jail and or civil court, the laws against you in that type of case
