Help Me Design a Table Stand

I am currently running two 5x5 tents that each have 1 1k light and a 3x3 table inside. The reason I went with the 3x3 table was because I can't get inside the tent if there is a 4x4 table in there. I usually need to be able to get in there and work on stuff. With 1ft around each side it makes it a tight squeeze but it's possible, and I do it regularly.

I know I'm wasting too much area by limiting myself to 3x3 and I'd like to move up to 4x4 tables. The thing is I think I'll still need to be able to get close and work on stuff throughout each cycle. I was initially thinking I'd just break down the tents, section off the room and then run 4x4 tables side by side. Now I'm starting to think that running in tents offers me too many advantages to give up so easily. Being able to run asymmetrical cycles in each is a big plus. I can veg stuff in one while the other is flowering. Odor is better managed when the only exhaust is through a big scrubber. Plus I don't like the idea of having another $600 worth of gear being unused.

I think ideally I could build some kind of stands that I would be able to pull in and out of the tents for maintenance. Currently my 3x3 tables are held up by angle iron frames that I made myself. They work great and they're strong as shit. The problem is there's no way I can lift that, or one sized for a 4x4 table, over the 3-4 inch lip at the door of the tent. I either need a way to slide the drip table off of the rack inside the tent and onto a rack on wheels that I could slide up against it, or make a rack inside that can somehow overcome that lip at the door. Maybe making a rack that has some kick out legs with casters on it would accomplish that.

They'll just be drip tables. I don't think the feed line in will be too much of a problem, I'll just leave enough line so that I can pull it out without disconnecting. The drain shouldn't present too much of a problem either. I'm thinking I won't have them directly connected, I'll just have the drain dripping into a larger piece of pvc line below. I'll just have to keep the drain from the table oriented directly over the pvc opening.

So I turn to you guys and girls. Shoot some ideas my way. What would be the easiest way to overcome this problem? What would be the best way to overcome this problem? Am I looking at this the wrong way completely?

i think you should make a table that you can just sit/stand in the middle of.

lol, let me "try" to explain . . .

what im thinking about is the actual 5x5 space, NOW what im thinking of is a "U" shaped space or another way to explain it would be to cut out a 1x1 OR 1x2 space in the middle of/at the front of the table SO instead of being able to walk around the area, you would just stand in one spot and pivot to where you would need to care for your plants.

i dont know your personal dimensions but i would think that your arms are at least 2' or maybe 2' plus how ever many inches long so that would be your reach potential (besides however far you can lean over to reach things can be considered as well). if there are drip tables then im thinking that the most you would do is have to place plants, move plants around or work on the plants individually.

but that sucks that you would shrink a 5x5 space down to a 3x3 just to give yourself more room to work in, that is waaaay to much space too give up IMO.

so by using a "U" shaped table you would have to turn to your left and reach 2', turn right and reach 2' and in front of you would be your longest reach of 4' . . . yeah . . . your right.left sides would measure 5x2 and your middle or front area would measure 5x4 or if you actually subtract the 1x2 space then your middle reach would be 5x3.

so yeah i think the "U" shape would be your best bet to not take away too much space but still give yourself enough room to move in. hope that helped to some degree.

There's also tents that have windows or access zips in the sides and back. So you never have to crawl in. I think its secret jardin.

i just read about your wanting to have something that slides out . . . damn, for a 5x5 table you would need to get casters or if your gonna be building it yourself then get some dollies.

no matter what you build or use that lip will be a greater problem than anything else so i would think that your gonna have to build some sort of ramp or something to go over the lip for a smooth roll in/out.

good luck with that one though, i would love to see how you figure it out once you do

What I understand is that 4x4 is pretty much optimal coverage for a 1kw. I don't need or want a 5x5 table, plus I don't think it would fit out the tent door. Yeah the whole lip issue is a bitch. Without that it would be as simple as making a rolling table.

Building a stationary rack does not address my problem.

My tents are Secret Jardin DR150II's. They do have windows on the sides. The problem is that the tents are 5 foot by 5 foot. My arms might be about 2 and a half feet, meaning theoretically I could reach any point in the tent from either the front or the windows. Realistically it would be much too hard to manipulate things if I had to work with my arms fully extended and my torso all the way against the tent. Kneeling in that position for any length of time would be very uncomfortable.
