Introduction:
Hey Everyone! This is my third grow i guess - first one ran into non growing issues a few years back and my second one was supposed to be a 2 Gallon DWC under a 70W HPS with some FloraNova. I ran into root rot/inadequate DWC setup(main issue) and ended up chopping most of the roots and doing some pruning and saved the plant by putting it into a 2L hempy with 100% perlite and watered wth 1/2 strength nutes. That brings us to now! Plant is recovering nicely with some vigorous green growth using 8ml per gallon of FloraNova Bloom (Lucas Formula). She is just over a month old (sprouted 8/2).

The Setup:

GrowCab(DIY from hell,inspired by Blynx!):
It is 18"w x 13"d x 27"h - 3.3 CF .I have 5 sockets mounted - 1 in each corner and 1 directly in the back middle. It has 5 - 1/2 inch holes drilled in the bottom for passive intake ventilation and it is setup on a 2x4 base to lift it off the floor.

Lights:
1X42w 2700k CFL
2X32w 2700k CFL
2x26w 6500k CFL

++ a nice 158W of CFL =D in just over 1.5 sqft++

I like the mix spectrum for both fazes of growth - i wish i had some more 6500k but im not allowed to spend any more money lol. I had some 40w bulbs in place of the 32w but it was a little too warm in the cab(90F). I could probably squeeze some more watts if i got newer model CFL bulbs but im satisfied with my wattage for my area.

Ventilation:
190 CFM inline blower with a 4x12" carbon scrubber. Keeps the temps pretty stable at 78F-81F with lights on. i have a 65 CFM computer fan blowing on the lights and tops of the plant.

TheGrow:

Strain:
Wappa Feminized from Paradise Seeds. I chose this strain because of the height, flowering time and the euphoric effects. It is also touted as a resilient strain with stable genetics that can take a beating from newbie growers such as myself. It has proven itself already as it survived root rot, transplant and lightning/environment change.

Medium/Pot/Nutrients/misc Grow Info:
I am growing in a 2L bottle hempy style with the top cut off and painted black with 100% perlite. I have other 2L's ready because eventually i would like to do a mini 6-8 plant SOG in my box. This plant will be vegged long enough to top and use the clone to start a mother. I am a little anxious for results from my efforts so i want to flower the first plant and create a mother from the clone. i still need to create a clone mother box/cab/tote. Trying to figure out a budget way to do it with what i have around(currently eyeballing a Tupperware storage tote). As stated before i am using 8ML/Gallon of FloraNova Bloom throughout the entire grow flushing every third watering. I havent got the water situation down yet because the ppm of my tap is too high, distilled doesn't have micro nutrients and i guess the Lucas formula is supposed to be added to RO water. i dont have Cal/mag but i do have some Epson Salt.
RANDOM QUESTION ALERT: How much do i add per gallon and is there a special way to do it?

Pictures are worth a 1000 words, and holy fuck im done typing:

First plant picture is right after rootrot emergency procedures and into hempy which was 8/31 you can see how well its doing after a week.

I think your intake is not adequate. That fan should keep that thing near ambient. I have a similar cab with an added veg chamber and more wattage and a similar fan/filter. I believe its, double the intake to the exhaust.

I thought that the fan should be doing a better job too. I have a 4inch flange in the lower left back corner that I have covered up. I added it in case I wanted to add an active intake I'll open it up later and see what it does to temps. Ambient is about 72-74. Thanks for looking out and confirming my suspicions =D

nice grow man ill be watchin!

Thanks for stopping by! I love your hbox mini led grow. I looked for a home box mini really hard after seeing it in your grow but they seem hard to come by from stateside sellers. I want to keep a mom or two in it. I though LEDs would be cool to supplement with And help get some denser nugs just can't find anything im wiling to drop some loot on yet

They- so I opened up the 4in port and temps are great. I was able to change my lights to the max wattage available to me which is now 2x 42w 2x40w 3x26w. I added some y splitters just to shove more watts in there and temps are steady at 78 with the additional bulbs and wattage increase. Put me up to 248watts and roughly 15,600 lumens of mixed spectrum cfl goodness. Really happy you pointed that out =D

From the pics it appears that you are pushing through the filter. Many folks do this with small grows, however the dust filter wont protect it this way. See if you can filter your intake somehow or the inside of the filter will get dust build up and hinder performance.

If i had more room i would put it inside the cab for sure. What kind of intake filter do you recommend? and where should i put it?

Day 39 of Veg
Lights:18/6
Temps:78F
Nutes:8ml FloraNova Bloom/gl

she seems to be drinking up her water in about 2 days. She got her second full dose of nutes since i transplanted. Everything is looking great i would say she grows out a set of top fan leaves each day, day and a half. node branching is looking vigorous. I was going to top it and use the top as a mom but i've decided to just take a clone from one of the bottom branches and grow it out. I don't want to top it because i like the way this strain looks with the one big main cola and a couple smaller ones around it. I know its not the best way to maximize yield but its not important to me - just gonna let her grow. I am going to take 2 clones on Saturday and then flower her! she should be about 9 or 10 inches tall by then - only have about 22 inches of grow room top to bottom and the 2l takes up about 6 inches of it so hopefully it will work out.

Yeah the burned leaves are what's left from the DWC problem I saved it from. It is a looking a little sad :/. It looks overwatered a bit right? The bucket was really light today which is by I watered it. I notice though that towards the end of the light cycle the leaves tend to droop a bit. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1347414408.014663.jpg
But this does seem a little more than normal I won't water again for a few days anyway to see what happens

Hard to tell from the pic but looks like she's stressing a bit, what's the temp sitting at?

A quick rule of thumb to remember is that when a leaf is curled up, too much of something. Leaf curled down means not enough of something.

Nice save though and it's looking pretty good.

Hah so what does it mean when the blades are curling up but the leaf as a whole is curling down :p

Temps are great was at 75 when I checked earlier. She's still looking pretty healthy and growing quick so I'm not overly concerned at the moment but if I don't see improvement by late tomorrow I'll do something about it.

She definitely has some battle scars already though haha - hopefully it will add character to the final product. I'm amazed she's alive after the DWC incident. Can't wait to get this first grow under my belt I've already learned a ton

Just something to catch dust. An AC filter or furnace filter or even a piece of widow screen cut to size. I've heard nylon stockings being used. Check it often and clean and/or replace.

@They- Good to know. Makes sense-just never put thought into the maintenance for it. I appreciate the advice mucho :)

The plant is looking better today I lowered her from the light a bit and shes perky and happy again. She's growing fast right now I might have to flower her sooner than Saturday and I'll have to lst or super crop or something because I didn't anticipate her growing so quickly

So I took some clones and flipped to 12/12 today. The rate this girl is growing I'll over grow my cab. I see a lot of new growers underestimate the space requirement of their plant trying - not to be a casualty. She's currently 8 inches and has about 12-14 inches of vertical grow space. If she gets too big I'll just break the top the no biggy. First ever attempt at cloning we shall see how it goes. I'm doing the perlite in a clearbox method.

Can't help my self I'm a bit enamored with her. This is the Farthest point I've reached in growing so I can't stop looking at it haha. Such a pretty plant.

hi, I'll be watching for sure, I have some wappas cooking too.
It's a really resilient plant, compact and can handle a lot of damage as you noticed... mines reacted really well to cloning, topping, pruning and late supercropping, and ate a lot of food from middle flowering to the end.

happy to see some nice wappa :) kudos!
