Hi all

I currently have a 2x2 with a 4bulb t5, a 2x4 with a 360w led from advanced led. these are linked with a 4inch fan and carbon scrubber.

The way I have this now.. I vent from the tents into the outer room.

Outer room is 15x15 have central ac as well as a 12000 btu room ac.

I want to get a new tent thinking about the 3'11 x 3'11 from grow labs. want to put either a 600hps or 1000hps in it and dump to room not attic or outside.

Is this possible. Thank you so much in advance!

I used to run a dr120 secret jardin. That was a 4x4 as well and 1 1000 watt will do just fine. Vent that with a 6 inch fan and you will be fine. No AC even needed until summertime.

were you venting to the attic or outside? I am really trying to avoid doing that.

Thank you very much it gives me hope that I am on right path.

I was just venting into the room the tent was in. My tent always stayed nice and cool too. When it got to hot in the summer I would turn on the a.c. But,growing you will always need to vent out...at least your stale, smelly air. You do not want a bunch of stagnant air just sitting there..that is not good for your plants. Do you plan on using an intake fan too or just opening the tent door so they get fresh air?

:yeahthats

You really want fresh air coming into the tent my friend... Also, with a 1000W, the room you're venting into will get a little warm and the amount of warmth will depend if you've got a cool hood/tube or not but it'll warm up no matter what.

Regardless of that issue, the thing about the air 'being stale' is a very valid point. You know the plants want and need more CO2 so if you're sucking the 'used' air out which has less CO2 now and putting it into the room, then it goes back into the tent.....well.......it gets kind of counter productive. Not much mind you since you're not dealing with sealed rooms but you get the point...every grower is looking for that extra little 1 or 2% to get a better yield. Venting out of that room is the way to go...now how you do that can be in entirely creative ways..:D

First of all.. Thanks.

The room it is in has pretty good ventilation, plus I am in and out most of the time.

My problem with venting into the attic is that I dont want to make the rest of the house work harder because I am dumping 450 cfm into the attic.. Am I off base on this?

Your heat rises anyways. It goes into the attic regardless of what you are doing. But see here is the difference...by you venting it and sending the air thru a carbon filter and into the attic the air will not stink. However if you just let the hot, stale air rise then it will eventually stink and cause you more problems then a little bit. We stoners have a way of making things complicated when they are simple. Venting into your attic is a superb idea. 450 cfm is not a lot of air anyways. You should have no problems at all doing that...good luck to ya

thanks for that, yep i use a carbon scrubber, i just wasnt sure if it would put an undo strain on things.

I see where you are coming from and I guess i need to find my drywall saw.

During the winter you can run a 600 or 1k in a bedroom without heat issues. If heat was becoming too much I'd open the window, let some cold air in, and the temperatures would drop back down.

Just an Update. I have decided to put a 600w in the 2x4 and see what happens with temps before an upgrade to a 4x4 and 1k.

Thanks again for all the help

if your thinkin of putting a 1000 watt in a tent i would go with a 5x5 for the added breathing room to work and fan placement, ect....

4'11'' x 4'11'' is real nice with a 1000. I ran that multiple times and vented right into the same room with the tent, summer and winter. Gets warm in the summer but it was doable. I just left the bedroom door cracked for just a lil air exchange. Come to think of it, I had a small 400w veg cab in that same room too.

I would exhaust through a hole or out the window or something. that room will get retardedly hot in the summer time...and what is the point of bumping your wattage...if your environment is going to prevent your plants from growing like they should.

Cheers
