What brand of sphagnum peat did you find at Home Depot?

I would be doubtful that the root aphids arrived in this material - anything is possible but still highly unlikely.

BTW, my lavender flowers in midsummer, so I'd imagine it's a question of longer periods of light..
Since rosemary is 'kinda' like an evergreen that might be a good plant to consider for our 12/12 cycles (being the shortest day period that is).

No flowers = compounds are in the leaves

Great Thanx Man. I'm making my first alfalfa brew tonight! Once it's done, I'm using it full strength right?

I do usually yes, sometimes i double up in a 5gal and dilute to 10 or 15 or whatever if i need more water/tea

I really like the plants response to this suggested by CC

5gal water
1/2 to 3/4 cup alfalfa
1/4 cup kelp

bubbled 24 hrs, full strength

I make that every week and the last 2 times I added the sprouted Barley seed tea with Aloe vera and Silica.

I have 2 plants that start Day 43 tomorrow morning and the resin level and more importantly (to me anyway) is the complexity of the smells from the flowers. When this strain is grown correctly it has a very profound perfume quality to it and this time around it's over the top in that regard.

Big hopes here - LOL

Your rosemary doesn't flower? Mine makes really pretty little purple (and a variety with white) flowers..

Mine is mostly used for making roasted potatoes though.

Grilled Salmon with Rosemary and Olive oil. Yummy!

I tend to make short ribs marinated in rosemary, garlic, olive oil and white wine..

Enough food talk, I haven't even finished digesting the carbonara from lunch, and I'm getting hungry again.

Are you using this tea in flowering and at what times? Early, mid, late? I'm always concerned that it would increase leaf production in my flowers.
Thanks in advance for feedback.

I remember you mentioning you make that tea every week & I have too for the most part, consistent and easy results is what I am finding - not to overshadow the importance of what's become a humus rich & very alive soil. The hard part is learning when to stop experimenting with all these good options I now have to feed the crops. Aromas & trichome production are astounding in my garden - not to sound over the top but it's easy to say I'm really at my own personal best right now, in regards to 10 years of indoor gardening & it's thanks to this style/approach to gardening & the awesome group puttin' themselves out there for many to learn. :thank you:

I've done the same thing, mixing my seedsprout concoction with the botanical tea, usually @ 1cup "concentrate" per gallon, along with aloe & silica. Great results- yes, am I noticing a difference between different inputs - not necessarily and maybe not immediately, but when the seedsprout tea is added, there is notable vigour then ensues along with an extended stay @ church i.e. the whole praying leaves business. I feel like at times I work with too many different inputs :D. Which is why, for example, I'm making a straight comfrey tea, 1cup dried per 5gal, and i'm not adding anything to it other than the usual suspect -silica & maybe aloe, those seem to be my mainstays now & won't offset the results I see, like if for example I added a scoop of nettle & maybe yarrow on top of it, which I have done - but I don't like not knowing what may be "working" or not, or to what extent and in what way etc..

CC I have a question for you that involves the response to the following question if you don't mind following along.

Are you using this tea in flowering and at what times? Early, mid, late? I'm always concerned that it would increase leaf production in my flowers.

Yes I often use the same teas in flower & veg, but there is a point when I will make different teas for different phases of growth.

I will use it on everything pretty much regardless through day 30 maybe 35 of flowering. Much of what I work with finishes @ or before 60 days (CC you mentioned giving the tea @ day 43, how many days does that strain flower?). So the Sour Bubble finishing @ 56 days, in a healthy amended soil, doesn't need much, if anything, the last 15 to 20 days - so if individual plants are dark green and vibrant it will mostly receive water only the last 15 to 20 days, which starts @ around 35 days into flowering.

Some strains, whether they are hungrier, have a tad bit offset soil mix, senescence setting in early, or are generally finicky, whatever the case may be, I get certain strains, usually just a few random plants, that will start yellowing early & with these ones, I will continue feeding without lowering alfalfa inputs for example, right through day 50 even, as long as it's still showing strong growth & flower development.

If anything I notice the plant will finish stronger & yellowing slows down.

I hope that all makes sense?

I have been getting some foxtailing action lately (not necessarily undesirable :D), it could easily be attributed to the high heat of summer I get for a couple months (upper 80's, a few days low 90's canopy temp) - CC do you think over doing it with any of the botanicals (whether as tea, or in soil) will lead to excessive foxtailing & delay of senescence. I have read that kelp will delay in senescence but unsure if, in excess, that will trick the plant into continued growth and result in foxtails & possibly some undesirable responses.

At Day 43 there is a minimum of 14 days left and I usually let this strain go 10 weeks more or less.

Since this is not a professional strain so it probably doesn't follow the usual Dankdom Rules of Engagement or more likely I simply don't know what I'm doing.

Hey guys....

Just completed a full run with a slight variation of Burn 1's mix and now its time to amend for recycling.

I am hoping you chaps will help me out with what I need to have optimum levels of all the gushy goodness that I want and desire.

My original mix contents are below:
6 parts Ocean Forest
2 parts perlite
2 parts denali gold ---( I know...I know...)
2 parts earthworm castings
2 tablespoons dolomite mile per gallon
1 tablespoon Blood meal per gallon
2 tablespoons Bone meal per gallon
1-tablespoon kelp meal per gallon
2 tablespoons alfalfa meal per gallon
1 tablespoon per gallon Jersey Greensand

What would the recommendations be to add to this? I have crab meal and neem meal that I am going to add and will source any other inputs needed. I also would like to add some rock dust.

Shoot!!

Cascade Minerals is packing Basalt rock dust from Eastern Oregon and it is available in consumer packs (i.e. less than 50# bags). They were at the horticulture show last month showing their new lines so it might be worth sending them an email asking for retailers in your area.

The Canadian Glacial rock dust if from Gaia Green so you might fire off an email to them asking for a retailer or distributor that's close.

How much silica are you adding to that?

So far I have stuck to spraying silica but your method sounds better.

I've been puffin and pondering again(oh lord what a dangerous combination), is organic hydro possible as we understand it? Not out of an expensive bottle, but sustainably with my compost heaps and worm castings and such. I dipped my head into the organic hydro forum but it seems pretty bottled.
