The proper way to test PH of coco

Habeeb, are you saying that in order to perform a proper slurry test we need to allow the mix to sit for a full hour? I've played around with times, and found that there was zero difference in allowing the slurry to mix after 10mins vs 30 mins and 60mins. I found 5-7mins to be the minimum time required for the test to be helpful.

This is just my experience. I may have misunderstood what you're trying to say.

I just spent the night re-reading H3ad & Rez doing coco and I didnt see either one of them mention checking the runoff or ph of coco, nor did I see them suggest it to anyone. They also both say they try not to get much runoff at all...
Thats when I first decided not to check anyway.
What I did notice was that they both suggested breaking down coco bags or bricks with just a nutrient solution,(rinse and repeat) but never mentioned checking anything.
In fact, I think that was the only question asked that H3ad ignored completely.
I guess if youre not sticking to a formula you might run into issues more often though.

I've run into problems in the past with coco and ph. I use tap water. For me, I found it's best to flush a coco brick with water in a 5 gal bucket, strain with a bubble bag. Then I add in base nutes and slowly refill the water unti I get my ph stablized at 5.8-5.9. Then I let sit 5 mins, strain once again and use. I realize this is an extra step from what most do. Works very well for me. To me stabilizing the ph of my medium is very easy. My plants couldn't be happier.

Bump......
Need some help, Im seeing conflicting information on slurry testing.
This thread says 1:5, which seems like way to much water since my readings came out way with .3 ec and ph high 6.
Other info says 1:2 or 1:2.5, this seems more spot on.
But Im here to get your guys opinion.
