Hi im fairly new here been doing lots of reading up , i gotta a question for you coco growers, i been growing in coco for a few years getting great results , run to waste and hand watered , the problem i sometimes have is i putting in 5.8 PH but some times i get readings 6.7/8.9 run of and no matter of flushing will bring it down, also i sometimes get what looks like magnesium def a few weeks into bloom , my leaves getting necrotic patches on them, i was just wanting some info about this , i use canna pro+ and i know flushing can mess up the buffers , but what can you do to bring it into range , ive done all the obviuos things to try to fix to no aveil , i still smash out nice crops im just a bit miffed by it all, any help would be appreciated, thx.

hey sweety,i wouldnt really worry about what ph it comes out as,now ppm, yeah thats important, but ph?no..it wont ever really be exactly what you put in it.

just ph to 5.8..sometimes 5.6-6.0,helps to get all the food to the plants,as long as your plants arent showing some kind of sickness of wierd growth, then dont worry about the runoff ph.sometimes coco gives magnesium or calcium problems, that can be fixed with 1 tablespoon of epsom salts per gallon, dissolve in hot water first though.

yes. I would worry about what ph it comes out. given ph, runoff ph should be same so plants can drink properly is the key and advantage of doing coco.

here is the solution to fix runoff ph level. first of all, get some pure water n flush it without adjusting ph level. secondly, using pure water make it to 5.8 and water it and get runoff on the bucket and test the ph level.

let say you got 8.0 from it and you want to get 5.8 runoff. simple, 8.0-5.8 is 2.2.
make a nutes solution and let it set for 24hr. ph it to 2.2. water it with 25percent runoff.

from now on your using RO water has 0 ppm.

Cheers guys, so do ya reckon its ok to do this when i got plants in to bring it into range . basically D.stillhigh your saying , if my run of ph is 7.0 to bring it down to 5.8 i run it through with water ph`ed at 1.2, cheers again.

the thing is,if your watering with ph at 5.8,and your meters are GOOD,then why stress about runoff ph,ppm is different cus it tells you if there is salt build up,lockout,etcccc..but the runoff ph wont ever be the same as what you put in,coco is NOT 100% inert, meaning it does have things in it that react with the nutrients and shit,so yeah,i wouldnt worry about runoff ph IF THE PLANTS ARE HEALTHY,forget everything else, the plants will tell you if something is wrong

look if i can grow this shit, then trust me ANYBODY can lol, people obsess over soo many things in this hobby lol,but yeah,if you think theres a problem, flush with tap water,?or water with mollases about once a week, the sugar breaks down the plant food, and it gives a chance for the roots to eat whatever food there is in the coco,

i used to do food/mollases/food/mollses...

On another note , i use canna pro+ , is it worth pre soaking overnight at ph 5.8 or not , ive never bothered myself , also when my run of is high or low im its either sure mag or calcium probs , would it be worth using cal/mag in a pre soaked solution and using it all the way through my grow , my water is soft tap water and i use coco specific nuits.

No dude I would definitely not put a solution phed to 1.2 on your plants. Also don't use pure water in coco. If you are flushing I would always flush with 1/4 strength nute solution. If you're running DTW and your ph is messed up you are probably over feeding.

i have never pre soaked,i just flush the coco with alot of tap water out the faucet,by the third watering using phed water,it should fix itself, like i said, keep it simpleeee, its a plant, give it water, plant food, some light,it will grow itself.

dont stress over runoff ph and shit, keep to the basics and youll be ok.

lmaooo^^^ NOOOOO,do NOT ever water ANY plant with water phed to 1.2..wth thats the worst advise iv ever heard, now theres a way to instantly cause a shitload of problems.

This is the worst advice EVER. Do not follow this adoce just make sure your Ph going in is on point.

Dstillhigh ...plz don't give out SHITTY advice like that ...doing what he's telling u to will more than likely FRY all the plants u put it on ...shrpshooter
