I just caught up on the whole thread. wow. thanks for having these discussions with us.

What is your total wattage of each type of light in your garden eh? This new led is the highest output led I have seen, not that I shopped for them or anything. Exciting

I had used chitosan generic pills as a top dressing and I thought it was of a benefit and I couldn't beat the dollar store price.

nice work OHMLESS. I was following your progress via rep points hehe

Right now I am just using one dimmable 600w hps (currently at 450w's) in a vertical donut, but I have an extra 600 and 400 that aren't being used and The two LEDs are on their way. a 140w and a 210w.

Next cycle, when I veg everything bigger and badder. I will have two side by side donuts with an LED in the middle. indies around one, sat doms around another... we have a limit of 20 plants so we will have 10 vegging and 10 flowering.

current design: top views

X X---X X
X-------X
----O----
X-------X
X X---X X

future design:

X--X--X--X
X-O-Q-O-?
X--X--X--X

X's are plants, O's are 600w vertical hps'
Q means LED over big ass Sweet Skunk

I'll leave an opening at the right end for a big non-canna plant and a general opening to get in and out quickly.

*and if the plants aren't sufficient size to soak in 2 vertical donuts I can slide them close together and put two lights into one cool-tube. since I made the handy adjustment to make the tube take two bulbs.

WE still have to put up with our building inspection and then I can put up a permanent structure. So we are still planning the best method. It has been an ongoing saga this summer. this dismantle biz is lame. "hurry up landlord! we scream"

I use the whole aloe leaf in a blender with water, then strained. I feel like there might be added benefit to using the skin, but I have nothing scientific to back that up. If nothing else, it turns it green, and I use that in gauging my dilution rate.

I use airlocks on my brews now to keep out airborne microbes. It also lets you see the rate of fermentation because you can see how often it bubbles. I brew in glass (which isn't safe using a sealed lid), just for purity since plastics visibly breakdown when you ferment in them a few times (unless you get brewing buckets).

Hey bud, what are you using the aloe for? There is a better member of the family still for use, bulbine I think it is called, we know it as bulbinella... The bushman used this above aloe for the same things, it has this gel in side the leaves that looks like its made to be used..It is this perfect gel that just dissapears into your skin if rubbed in that kills any infection, cures any burn or insect bite and prevents sunburn, has high SPF.. Yeah a wonder plant, I have grown it for years, my aloes don't get used anymore, shame..

Hey Chief, ever try using "Fox Glove" ? It is an old Native American cure all for skin problems.
Take the juice from the stalk and rub it in with a leaf from the plant and your poison ivy rash is gone in like 12-24 hours. Grows in the woods around here, but kinda hard to find. The juice from the stalk feels slimey like Aloe.

I just got a small Aloe plant for $3.50 :) The plant is 16" tall with a small pot. Lady at HD said she transplanted hers into small pots 3-4 times and her plant bushed out nice. What is a good soil for Aloe??

- I haven't used Foxglove no.. I've heard of it. I know that its highly poisonous if misused and in its early flower stages is often mistaken for comfrey with poisonous results..

There is a drug contained in the leaves called digitalis. Which helps with Cardiac problems and blood pressure. fox glove should never be taken internally without the supervision of a professional herbalist or MD. It has been used in the past as an externally, which can calm headaches and lessen inflammation etc. But I have little to no experience with fox glove so Ill be staying away until I can learn more. I don't want to kill myself or my plants. :)

- ALOE VERA SOIL: what I use: regular potting soil : Sand = 3:2

Thanks MJIMF! Here is some info on Aloe Vera: HERE

and I have one question: what species of bulbine are you referring to? While researching I have found over 160 species. I can't wait to look it up in the Dr.Dukes Plant Database. :)

Thank you Chief.

I'll get some pics. I may be confusing foxglove with a local suculant. I would even chew the stalks and leaf sometimes when I was a younger man. Must be lucky.

I hope you enjoy your break from school!!
