Evo90 - 2 x CDSD + 2 x Casey Jones

Thanks for the compliments!

OP will deliver as well:

the cab at 48 days of 12/12. It's actually more like 10½-13½ at the moment. I decided to make the nights a little longer to promote ripening.

The CJ-s. The smaller one is already getting pretty yellow. It's a much bigger N hog then the big one. I've given it a final feeding today and after that she's going to be on straight water. Unless she brings another flush of fresh pistils and calyxes I doubt she will go much beyond 60-63 days. The big one will go to the 70-s for sure tho.

budshot from the bigger casey. This plant is delivering.

And to end with something new - I haven't shown any closeups of the CDSD, the better one. Still floppy and very immature compared to the CJ-s. This one will probably yield the most though. If only I had the canopy I wish I did...

All in all, I must admit that 70W is still just 70W and these plants deserve a bit more considering the freakin' size of them...

Looking good my friend, I just did a 4x8 scrog with 6 EVO 90's and quality was remarkable but yield was def not there. I decided to toss a gavita 1000de in the middle of the LED's to give them some volume. They rock for their ability to go close with low heat I just think an HPS combo would be more beneficial with them.

A few updates!

We're now at day 52 of flowering.

As you can see from the picture my biggest issue is the canopy. It's actually so bad that the topmost fan leaves have signs of light bleach, especially on the bigger CDSD. I'm left with kind of a dilemma and have to choose between slight light bleaching at the top vs less light at the bottom. I have more nugs on the bottom. There's very little I can do to get them "out of the light" too. I can't stress this high enough: canopy, canopy, canopy. It feels like I'm only using this lamp with 50-60% efficiency.
attachment.php

The smaller Casey is looking pretty ripe already at this stage. I don't think she'll push much more than 60. You never know what recessive genes might pop up in the F3-s to speed up the flowering of this specific plant compared to the average CJ. Perhaps a little extra kick from the 13½ h darkness adds to the effect as well. The top buds are pretty dense while the lower ones a little more fluffy. Coated in trichomes and smelling funky. As a matter of fact she is so tempting that I couldn't resist and took a sample (well, I've taken the immature fluff that didn't get much light at various stages, but this was the first "proper" sample). I had it today with my morning coffee and all I can say is wow. I won't comment much on the flavors yet but I'll say she had the same sour tones as all of the SSSDH phenos I had, it just wasn't lemony - something rather different I can't really tell yet.
As for effect... Nice. You feel it after the first few tokes while the bowl is still lit. Makes your heart pump and wakes you up. It's all in the head. Your body is fully functional yet anything above the neck is glowing and fluffy. Lasts long too, a little more than 2½h has passed since i smoked and I can still feel it. Now my tolerance is not that high at the moment too though, but still. Very enjoyable herb. I can imagine it can only get better.

One of the bottom buds of the big casey. Continues to get more special by the passing day. This one continues to add on new white pistils, although at a slower pace as the days pass. This is the gem in the cab for sure. Apart from the slight light burn at the very top it has not shown anything but perfect growth the whole time. And I bet you already know about the trichomes... Looks like she could go to the 70's for a fully ripened flower.
attachment.php

CDSD, the runt. Sure takes a nice picture though. I really don't get this plant. She was semi decent throughout veg. Well besides the heavily floppy limbs. Stretched forever with huge internode spacing and very late flowering. very few buds, I likely wont get much more than 5-7g off her. At least she takes a nice photo in the led light..

Thanks Cheese! these Caseys are doing excellent in terms of resin production!

Opiumo, that's a real problem because of the canopy.

It's actually so bad that the topmost fan leaves have signs of light bleach, especially on the bigger CDSD. I'm left with kind of a dilemma and have to choose between slight light bleaching at the top vs less light at the bottom. I have more nugs on the bottom.

The only way to even things out is to have a multi-stage harvest. Get the top colas out of the way to even out the canopy and then let the rest go a little while longer. I doubt it will significantly increase the yield though...

very very beautiful plants and cool photos, wish i had my leds home already, hope you enjoy your harvest and next time you will make up for the yields for sure!

Thanks for the comments!

The smaller CJ is down @ 60days flowering!

The preharvest canopy. You might notice that one of the "main colas" is missing because, well... It was taken as a 54 day sample.

I trim wet. I tried trimming when the buds were dried once but it was such a freakin' pain and very messy so now I always trim wet. This plant produced quite a bit of sugar trim compared to the amount of buds. And when I say sugar trim I mean oh my how trichome-heavy leaf material. That's jarred up and in the deepfreeze waiting for the whole round to finish for some oil or bubble making depending on how much I get. I've found it way more practical to make oil with small quantities than bubblehash though.

The yield is small though. :(
attachment.php

Since I had 4 plants under 70W, for a 1g/w yield each plant has to produce on average 17,5g. I don't think I will reach that mark with this plant, but in a few days I can confirm. With a 4 plant scrog I don't think reaching these numbers is unreasonable per screen/plant.

What I can tell you for sure though is that no way in hell I could've had plants this large with 70W of CFL. Hell I had 60W CFL-s in a PC case when I first started and yielded around 10g.

Concerning next round, I have 4 clones currently in a bubbler, 2 of each of the caseys taken at the last days of july and the first one is showing her first roots. It has been a slow process since they were already in the flowering process and I kept them in plain water for the first 3 weeks. I also have backups of the plants at another location just in case these wont make it through the reveg process. The veg process for the next round could take a little longer due to the reveg.

Thanks! I'll get some dry nug pics soon, though I can tell that not only do they look dank but they smoke heavenly as well.

As far as weight goes, this plant yielded nearly half oz, 12.9g, manicured bud. Also the amount of sugar trim it produced is a nice bonus.

12.9g puts us at 0,737 g/W (considering equal light distribution between 4 plants; in reality it wasn't necessarily always 100% equal). Nothing to brag about but you've seen the ride and you know why.

The others are still going strong. Really ripening now @62 days in, even the runt is starting to show some decently frosty nuglets. At least I will get a taste. I figured this one will probably represent the more Sour Diesel side of the cross. Except for the extreme!! internode length. It may also be because of the low wattage though but seeing as other plants did fine I just cant brush it off. The bud structure looks rather similar to some of the other sour diesels on the boards, except way smaller of course...

Big casey looks just majestic and incredibly dense. I don't know how the trichomes are going to fit when the plant dries.

The CDSD is also pumping out trichomes.

Top bud of the better CDSD. This will most likely go near 70 days but it looks pretty ripe already.

Thanks!

I must admit, this bigger Casey is probably the frostiest plant I've ever grown. Top notch genetics really.

Some dry shots of the smaller casey. This one isn't in a lower league either!

Amazing trichome density... yummy.

I'd like to ask you something. Did "the frosting" appear little by little or did it happen more or less sudenly at some point of flowering?

Thanks mate!

Dysnomia

Thanks for the kudos guys!

As far as the appearance of the frost I must admit that the Caseys were pretty much always very frosty. You can check the earlier pictures. The smaller one showed sessile trichomes even in veg!
The CDSD has had a gradual increase though. Only in late flower has it achieved higher densities.

A few updates!

Now at day 68 of flowering. Things are coming close to the end soon. The better CDSD is showing 2 late-flower nanners. Genetics, wooo. In any case this is not a big downer since they came so late and are probably sterile as well. I'll take them off though.

Big Casey majestic as always.
