Cops arrested a dude in my town for a rocket launcher and a MAC-10 with a ~150 bullet clip. I wasn't that freaked until I found out he was busted for discharging a firearm in the city limits.

If we're gonna let folks load up, we ought to do a better job keeping guns out of idiot's hands.

but then wouldn't we have to create a whole bureaucracy (which would undoubtedly be ran poorly and inefficiently) in charge of determining who and who isn't an Idiot... adding to the national debt thereby further devaluing the currency in your and my pocket?

Certainly violence has many sources, but to dispute that poverty/drugs contributes to violence is an absurd comment as well. Of course extreme poverty/desperation contributes to violent acts.

Poverty to justify violence.. of course not, but it definitely contributes to it. Is it right, No. But starve a man to near death (or his beloved family) and watch how desperate he gets. Its not rational thinking.. it's starvation and complete mental breakdown. Self preservation is one of the greatest human instincts...and can drive a human being to actions he might have never considered before. No man can say otherwise until he is faced with such a scenario.

Comparing your 16k salary .."broke and hungry"..dumpster diving to the scenario that The Revolution was suggesting is delusional.

And yes - the banking cartel and the federal reserve are the reason our country is in the shitter with a much darker future on the horizon. If you dont think extreme desperation and violence will come out of their criminal actions you are blind. It's one of the main reasons gov. will continue to tighten the lease down on the freedoms our forefathers fought for...all in the name of "safety".

Not the main cause for such action, but The Revolution's statement was certainly not wrong. Yea.. drugs, poverty, and desperation have nothing to do with violence/crime. :chin: What planet are you from?

Self perceived? If you cannot see the ever increasing loss of our liberties (an effect from too much government/power) then you sir need to open your eyes and look around at the world around you.

i can see poverty and desperation as being a fuel for some crimes. shoplifting, trespassing, loitering, ect...while still crimes are non violent. one doesn't need to resort to violence or threats of violence to survive. it's a cop out. it means you're too lazy or stupid to do much else. when i'm in need of money i take my ass to the pawn shop and part with something until i can afford to get it back. there are plenty of homeless who aren't violent. why should one persons situation differ from another to the point murder seems to be a justifiable outcome? imo there is no circumstance that would ever justify it.

anyone desperate enough to take those measures should rethink the consequences. they should take that fucking gun to the woods and do some real hunting instead of taking the pussies way out by robbing an innocent person for personal gain (regardless of what items are desired).

blaming the drugs for violent acts is as bad as saying, "i'm sorry i ran over your wife, but i was drunk so it's not my fault." it's avoidance. laying blame on things that have no bearing on your actions. yes drugs and alcohol can effect decision making, but users are still responsible for their actions under ANY medication, legal or not. drugs or poverty never justify violence. not saying it doesn't happen, but take the guns away, and i doubt you'll see an increased murder rate for a can of spaghetti. people are murdered for their air jordan's. do ya think they would have busted his skull open with a bat if he resisted? they wouldn't wanna ruin the kicks with blood. they took an easy way out and shot him. treyvon martin would (presumably) still be alive had zimmerman been carrying a bat instead of a pistol.

i'm not saying the downturn in the economy hasn't produced more criminals. like i said, before the shit hit the fan (economy tanking) i was making double what i am now. the result of the shitty economy has turned me into a criminal. i'm not, and never would be violent tho regardless of income. the difference between a crime with a gun and without a gun makes a huge difference. say for example growing weed. in some states, if a gun is found in someone's possession along with a few plants, they charge you with a violent crime regardless of whether the gun was used or not. mandatory minimum is 25 years. grow 100 plants with no guns, 5 years with reduced sentencing available.

how is what i said about dumpster diving and my shitty income delusional? i see people walking through parking lots looking for change every morning. while technically trespassing, no one is gonna be shot for it. same goes for dumpster diving. people may be annoyed but they usually don't shoot you over trash. there are places people can go to eat, i.e. soup kitchens and the like. there's no need to kill anyone over dinner. if you're shooting people to score drugs you need to do a serious self evaluation in regards to control. if you can't handle your addiction, you need mental help, not a fucking gun! irrational people with guns leads to violence.

i'm well aware of how many rights are being stripped away. my 2nd amendment was taken from me for a matter of $300 (more or less). i'm not happy with the way government handles things in the least, but keeping a full auto ak-47 off the streets is fine with me. it serves no practical purpose for anything other than killing humans. personally i could care less if they banned guns or not anymore. i haven't been able to own 1 because i drove to work one day. i haven't had a need for one for anything other than hunting, EVER. imo that's about all they really are needed for.

i hate to say it but if you're posting on this site, you're probably a criminal too. have you needed a gun to commit the crimes you're guilty of? my guess is no because you're a rational individual. rational individuals use alternate means to procure items needed in times of desperation without resorting to violence to do so. those who don't deserve whatever outcome bringing a gun to the fight entails. that being said i do feel an individual has a right to defend himself, but again, if an assailant was carrying a golf club, would you really be as worried as if he had a tech-9?

Exactly - what we have is a mental health problem, not a gun ownership problem. This also goes back to what VG was pointing out earlier as an answer that he didn't understand - the good guys should be armed. Do you think that these little weenies would be pulling this shit if they knew that there would be an instant reply in kind? No, they are going for environments where they know that law-abiding people will be unarmed.

What the hell is a "man-killer" round? Any bullet is potentially a "man-killer round".

I want to know what definition of the good guys, I consider myself a "Good Guy " But the establishment wants us that smoke cannabis not owning guns, so WHO chooses!!!!!!!??????????

I feel I've been apathetic about these issues for too long. Not long ago the fed said Fed laws trump STATE. Opposite of what the Constitution says, now I read my State's assembly approved a bill banning open carry of UN-loaded long guns in public. I used to look at the Militia type and think "What a nut." Now I look at those people as HEROES. Forward thinking, visionary PATRIOTS. It's time fo tell Washington to pull it's head out of it's ass! We are living in the BEST country, IMHO, but we have lost or had stolen CORE right, RIGHT under our noses!! I'll be fighting in the only way I believe to be productive in this country, by voting, in every motherfucking bill, law, election that I can. FUCK the the status quo shit just got real for me.. SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS!

Gun ban of carrying long guns in public I don't know but the neighbor was showing a new gun, next day cops stopped him on the street checking out why he had a gun , WTF!!!!!!

That guy couldn't have been that much of an idiot.. I mean, I consider myself a reasonably intelligent person and I wouldn't have the first clue how to aquire a friggin rocket launcher...

No, but a brief period of conscription to provide both some weapons training and some lessons in being a productive member of society might be worth a hard look. The Swiss are obviously doing something right, and it has sure as hell gotten away from us. There are far too many guns out there to ever take them away, and the mindset of the populace wouldn't allow it anyhow. The other option is to arm the good guys and teach them the skills that used to be endemic in our population prior to about 40 years ago.

Switzerland is doing a lot of things right, but comparing their gun control and societal issues to the US is not very relevant. I mean, Canada has many guns too, but not the same crime rates and such as the US. The US is still really debating a lot of things both those countries resolved years ago.

Personally I just think all the crazies can't afford their pills and treatment because healthcare isn't provided for free here like it is in Canada and Switzerland.

Exactly! This has nothing to do with gun control, but being part of the armed forces would make you feel like part of something, which most of these mass murderers seem to lack. We can't figure out a way to make people feel a part of something here in the US other than the military? That being said, I love you ICMag, I feel like a part of something now.

point i was making is that it's not the availability of guns that makes for lots of gun crime alone. imo it's the fact that people know about the guns in homes, that stops the eastern block gangs and other criminals from breaking in places that are occupied.

although as there has been events too, things are slowly changing, many of the younger generations are being convinced to leave their military weapons at the local army depot. also they have started making people get their weapons registered as soon as they are no longer of military serving age. if you forget to do the paperwork you have to give up the army weapon. so things are changing. the only weapons you can just get with no restrictions at all are single shot rifles and single shot shotties, for the rest you have to register them with the authorities.

For sure. I've had my house broke into and I'm sure they found the reminents of what wasn't present. They took the revolver, but didn't take the 20 round 9mm clip next to it, or 75 round 7.62 drum in the other room, probably because those guns were in my car. No wonder they haven't kicked in my door at 4am yet.

Dam, another earthquake in Philipines 7.6, and they arlready under red alert from flooding. Another chip away from those who have no idea whats going on, and the wall thats put up by non believers that we are expirencing some very real changes daily globaly.

Sorry I know many if not all here do not believe in this, but if you guys do not mind I am watching all things carefully, and would like to share the updates without causing a fuss. Just felt this thread cuz ppl are still suggesting weapon disarming is more a situation than the real deal happening all around us. Just learned myself today this system that is approaching our solar sytem has been around for some time, even looking at our history we are noticing a strange patten every 3500-3600 yrs this happens, and most if not all records dates in history is suggesting this.

No one knows what happen to the Myain, or aztecs, but they were around 3500-3600 yrs ago. Same with the Mammoth they been finding with undigested food in their stomachs, meaning they had to die soon after eating, suggesting mass floods on earth instead or along with meteors. Just reread chapter 8 of Revelation again because I wanted to understand about Wormwood, which is what the bible calls this thing, whats very powerful is not just the meaning I got this time, but wormwood is also a herb, and is used to kill parasites, so in the symbology ppl are parisites on our earth.

Very strange, and will return with up date as things show up. Peace out.
