Lets go Arky!!!! Alabama has MMJ statutes on the books from what I understand. I hope the South goes green and puts some pressure on the barbaric and backwards-ass state of Florida.

AWESOME awesome awesome news! Almost 3x the numbers needed. Sometimes it seems as if there are so few things to really feel good about, but this is one of them.

i wonder which cities will get a dispensary up & going first. i'm guessing fayetteville and/or little rock right? it's kinda weird about the 'no home growing if you live within 5 miles of a dispensary' deal. can someone please explain to me the rationale behind that rule? how is that going to keep the public any safer (if that is somehow the reasoning:crazy:)

i'm also pretty sure the rules don't allow for outdoor gardens either. i wonder if a greenhouse would be ok though..

You can grow outside. It has to be in an inclosed locked facility. I believe Maine is making that an 8' fence. For the final rules you will have to wait to see what the health department does. If they don't do anything(which is likely) then it will be up to the people to interpret the rules based off of the initiative language.

Originally MPP wanted to make the 5 mile rule 25 miles. However someone intervened, and had them change it. They tried to get them to take it out completely, but they wouldn't. So a compromise was made.

Keep in mind that local cities, and counties can outlaw dispensaries. So if you want everyone to grow just get your city council to ban dispensaries. If they won't, collect signatures, and have the people vote on it. It should not be that hard. I am not a fan of dispensaries. I believe in the caregiver model.

As far as the home grower goes this bill is pretty good. Everyone in Arkansas should read over it. Then you will find some hidden treasures for the home grower.

I will not publicly point anything out in the initiative, but this initiative had some major influence from a home grower that doesn't believe in dispensaries.

Without them this could have been a dispensary only model. That is where it was headed.

Honestly I think it is really good. Considering what it could have been. The people that don't like it don't really understand the way it is written.
