newb venting question

So here's the deal I've been surfing the threads and looking and looking but all the graphs and what nots are just confusing the shit outa me,

I was using a 250 in my shead for awhile with no real heat issues now that its a pretty warm summer here and my upgrading to a 400 I wasn't willing to take the chance on any heat stress due to the light so I got a 6 inch 435 cfm fan and a way over kill scrubber its the 2 foot by 12 inch bad bitch phresh filter fuckin huge to say the least for 6 plants under 400.. but go big or go home rite?

Enough lullygaggin ill get to the point should it actualy be hard to open my door to the shead when lights are on? I mean hard like 10 15 lbs to open the fucker... ok I may be exagerating(sp?) More like 5 to 8 lbs. ill get my fish scale out soon and check the actual lbs it takes to open the door.

My set goes like this scrubber, duct, hood, duct to hole in the floor that is venting outside. I have pix of the room in my albums but the other thing I did was completly seal the shead except a few spots with calking mainly for light proofing b4 I had the fan.. sorry for the ramble but usualy it matters to know the whole situation to get help...

you have an extreme vacume in there, no it shoudnt be that hard. you do however want negative pressure in the shed to keeep the smell contained. you need an intake somewhere. whether it be a passive intake or an intake with a blower hooked up. might get away with a 4in dryer duct booster for and intake there somewhere around 250cfm. that will still leave you with negative pressure in the shed.

Awsome thanks burns kinda figured it couldn't be good so should I put the intake on the oppsite side of the exit or can they be on the same side. Guess what I'm askin is how close is too close?

Yes that is the only one a 6 inch hole with the ducting going all the way thru the floor and bending out side just at dirt/ grass level covered with piar of pantyhose to keep bugs and dust from goin in after lights are out..andits basicaly completly sealed the roof line the sides and weather stripping some real heavy duty shit. The main purpous was for light proofing when I was running my 250 with no heat issues but its been 100 degrees here lately and I know for sertain that I will have heat issues with this 400 and the weather..

So it should go on the same side as the scrubber? Or should I find a way to hang my scrubber and fan like iv seen quite a few times on grows in here?

If u could hang scrubber up high. Heat rises. And put the intake on other side of room. Lower towards the ground. Sounds like you have a hole down low. May want to use that hole for intake and just drill a new hole up high on other side of shed for exhaust. That way your only drilling 1 new hole rather then 2 holes and still have to cover the existing one up..

I'm pretty sure I can find a way to mount it up high, that's a good idea switching the intake and mounting the exhaust up higher as well... I'm gona have to spend a lil bit in the shead tonite redesigning it lol thanx

Hey Joe you have any pics of your shed? How big is it? Reason I ask is I've out grown my veg area, need more space and I've been thinking about a shed to expand my breeding and test area for new strains. Lookin for some ideas. Thanks

You'll want to filter that incoming air.

Even if it's just a DIY with acouple cheap furnace filters, on top of a expensive pollen catching one. You'll be surprised (and disgusted) at just how much crap it'll catch... instead of your buds. :)

And here is the hole in the floor that was accident brothers foot went thru the floor one day n decided to use it lol

Here's a few nothin fancy but pretty nice for the price I've payed for everything its a 8x7x7x7 at the peak of the roof holds six ok and a bunch of my shit I don't have room for in the house... its was fairly cheap if remember rite 400 bucks installed I just leveled the ground where the guy was gona build it... thought it woulda been kind diffucult to assymble my self so we payed the extra fee knida wish I didn't he thru that thing up in 20 with the time it took him to unload it all from the truck...

I'm not sure if I'm gona end up using a booster I may just cut a decient hole in the floor a try out the passive idea out not too hip on the idea of another thing sucking juice its super expensive where I'm at. But yes ill deff have to figure something out to keep unwanted guest out and keep the dust some what under control and the smell in... I'm runn a 6 plant perp. Of cherry pie and what I understand about this strain is its quote "yes its loud"

Oh yeh it can get nasty even tho my room is super sealed I wouldn't say completly aparently some are is getting in cause air is coming out of the exaust
But the pre filter has already started to change its not that super bright white hurt ur eyes under the hps white anymore its just white now... but yes agreed gona have to figure something out... may end up with a 6 inch flush wall mount and just put it in the floor oppsite my exaust with either a few pairs of panty hose or go find a nice fat UNI filter of sort for a dune buggy or motorcycle and use that since thos dust shrooms are unbeliveable on the wallet I'm sure I can rig something up for 25% the price...

I can get real creative with stuff when I'm broke like I am now lol but thanks for the reminder prob woulda jus poped a fat hole and realized the next day when my shit was full of the backyard

for the intake cut a 6in hole where desired and staple the best damn furnace filter/a-c return filter you can find. 3m makes some damn good ones. That will keep everything out. seal i well. maybe cut it down to a 8x8 square, staple over 6in hole and seal edges with duct tape or better? double it up even.

Heya Joe.........yeah, air has to be getting in or else you wouldn't be able to open that door!! Vacuum and air pressure is an amazing thing.
Think about it. In an airplane, we've all seen those movies where someone opens the door in midflight.......umm..can't happen,,impossible due to the 5lbs of pressure difference from inside to outside the aircraft. Enough physics and science...

Yes, you need to have an intake opening somewhere... Ideally, you want the air filter/exhaust up high somewhere ( avoid it sucking in all the dirt plus taking out heat as well). Intake vent somewhere low so the new CO2 filled air can circulate through the plants and the old COs poor air can escape up and out.........

Just my 2 cents on the subject.........:)
