What's new

Want to try a new system for clones only!

I've always grown from seed, but I've finally got a few moms going and can probably cut 100-150 clones in one run. I was wondering what hydro system you guys would recommend for running clones. I've been growing ebb and grow for a few years and find that it's really not the best for growing out clones.

I'm sorry, I meant flowering. I use a bubble cloner for rooting. I've done a few runs and have a 100% success rate so far.

I grow with ebb and grow, as in the buckets. I tested a few clones this time in buckets and got subpar results. Do you need to put the clones into a separate medium, because I put them directly into the hydroton. I was thinking about grabbing an aero system. Just seeing what you guys think.

Been using jiffy pellets for years!

Well it will work great in just the hydroton, but you can always get some rockwools cubes. They work fine.. just clone in your cloner like you're doing then when its ready, prune back the roots some, break the little rockwool cube in half, and close it over the plant. Then bury it in hydroton.

Thanks Steve...I may give the hydroton ebb&gro combo another shot. Do you think you could run more than 1 clone in 1 bucket?

It is possible sure but I wouldn't. Unless you are going to keep the plants really small you're going to fight them from crowding each other out. You can just grow small trees in them..

What exactly are you thinking?

Just tossing out ideas, lol. I'll root them and veg them for like 3 weeks in the buckets. That should give me some decent branching and growth for flowering.
