3 lb for 88$

Vital Earth's® Soluble Seaweed Extract 1-1-17 is an extract made from Ascophyllum nodosum, a marine plant exclusive to the North Atlantic

Insane. They buy and re-pack the powered seaweed extract that is manufactured by Acadian Seaplants, Ltd. (ASL) in Nova Scotia. ASL and Maxicrop (based in England) own the powdered seaweed extract market in the US and Europe. Completely. Totally.

Keep It Simple (compost tea company) also sells this product - $14.00 per lb.

Even a small time customer like me can buy a master pack (20 kg/44.1 lbs) for $425.00 before the obligatory 'good dude discount'

Almost $30.00 per lb. - delusional. These guys used to be straight shooters - sad deal all the way around. I will never recommend their soils, worm castings, etc. ever again.

Good spot - always watch the 'NPK' numbers and you can always get back to the actual manufacturer.

Registration records are a real bitch, eh?

I can't figure that one out either. The Vital Landscaping may be a retail arm but looking at their products it's all labeled 'Vital Earth'

On their list of retailers they cite the store over in Milwaukie and a couple of weeks back I stopped in to pick-up an order of bulbs and there was a big banner promoting Vital Earth's products.

"So you guys are going to start pretending to be a real garden store?"

LOL

I searched Vital Earth and found them selling their product 3lbs for $105 so I took my message down..... that pricing is offensive...

Yeah the local stores trying to get on board now that sunlight supply is packed with VE products, have not seen any actual products in stores..... in fact as far as I can tell the only place locally to buy their compost/ewx/manna mix whatever is still concentrates......

The Milwaukie store is now carrying Down-To-Earth Neem Seed Meal in 25# bags and Karanja Seed Meal from DTE in the standard 6-lb. box

And they're selling enough to justify bringing 30 bags.....

Weird...

My DTE box is 5lbs of "all natural" neem seed meal for $13.50. No NPK sticker on this box unlike the previous products...... Do they have a lot of diff labeling?

I need to make it out to milwaukie, appreciate you mentioning it

Here's the old package:

And the new one which does not note the NPK

But the actual importer use these number:

And this silliness is explained here

Simplic-Tea is now carrying the organic neem & karanja oils and meals at a very fair price and he's got some hot deal on shipping charges. Even with the S&H the organic products are less expensive that DTE

Worth checking out perhaps?

I don't have time to do a full response, I am on my lunch break. However I stopped at my hydro store and they had the kelp priced at 19$ a pound, and gave it to me for 14$ a lb. How ever I am going to buy much more from where CC recommended.

The one thing I noticed is this kelp is of much higher quality than Dr. Earth or others. Seems to be 100% water soluble.

Also, I don't want to give people the wrong impression about Vital Earth. I think they are by far the best organic company available in my area. Also, they have in depth feeding programs that include liquid nutes, top dressing, foliar and best of all their ACT's.

The biggest problem with Vital Earth is the cost.......But thanks to CC I will be able to find the same products for cheaper. Love it!!!

Wow - expensive!

We use the same kelp for both my garden and my wife's horse - a buck a pound at the feed store...

We also use the same alfalfa and comfrey for both horse and garden..

Sounds like a magazine...Horse & Garden...*lol*
