good deeds and kharma - what have you done?

yesterday I noticed a piece of mail in my pile not addressed to me, but with my address. I opened it and it was a bank/debit card.
I'm broke and did some bad things when I was younger, and thought about using it. I was like "I just need to wait for the PIN and I can get cash."
Today the PIN came in the mail. I thought it over long and hard. I'd been to jail here. I'd been arrested. It sucks. Plus, the card had been sent to my house...so it would be an easy trail.
I decided to take the PIN letter and ATM card to the bank. They were thankful. I did not get a reward. The manager said it was the vendor that sends the ATM cards out, that it was the vendor's fault.
I'm broke and jobless and really thought about getting some cash but decided against it. First, the jail thing. And second, if it happened to me, it would be the WORST thing in the world. Imagine if you had like 800 bucks in your account and the next day saw that it was EMPTY? And you had bills to pay, etc? It would be horrible. So I gave all the shit to the bank.
I could have easily activated the card and used the PIN to withdraw a thousand bucks a day until the card stopped working. I would have said 2-3 days. But jail isn't worth it. And I wouldn't want someone to rob me like that and take advantage of me, so I wouldn't do it to someone else. By the way I googled the person and they're a friggin' doctor. I guess I could be on the beach right now, but jail would probably be waiting for me when I came back.
What good things have you done?

and you feel justified?
after you opened mail not addressed to you.
That's still a federal crime, and the bank could press charges if they wanted.
what a fucking jerk.

personally i dont believe in kharma.karma is adopted by pussies who cant take care of buisness. the reality is if your bad , your prob surrounded also by bad peeps and bad things will happen. if your a good guy you prob are surrounded by good peeps and good things will happen. i have yet to say its ok karma will get that guy ect. i am a karmatic assistant. even karma needs help now and then. the reason i do the right thing is spanking was allowed as a kid and i was taught morals and to be a real man.lol

Nobody is pressing charges for opening a letter that was sent to their house. Especially if you only opened it to find out who it should be sent to. Did you really have to call the guy a "fucking jerk"?

Its most definitely harder to do the right thing when you are a poor person. Having money makes a lot of people more moral than they otherwise would be

I'll fantasize about what I could have gotten when I'm high and daydreaming in the coming days...
When I was thinking about it earlier thoughts flashed in front of me - "new RooR, sneakers, clothes"

You should not open other people's mail. You should have just dropped it back at the post office. You have bad karma now for sure your fucked I hope someone else opens your mail...

You should get a job or do something else worthwhile to earn money honestly then next time the thought of committing fraud wont even cross your mind.

Something tells me if you didn't think you'd get caught you would have went thru with it. So is that really good karma worthy?

You did the right thing by taking it back to bank but you invaded someones privacy and that is not cool. Next time just write return to sender and dump it back in the mail...

You don't get points for doing what you're supposed to do.

As Chris Rock would say, "What do you want, a motherfuckin' cookie?!".

What good things have you done?

I'll go with "Not jumping all over your shit for you doing, in the end, the right thing." You recognized bad thinking and corrected it before it got you into deep trouble. That's progress, brother. All you can do is be better today than what you were yesterday.

I've done more good things than that, but this is one that relates directly to you. Stay happy, stay high.

Hello all,

Firstly, like was mentioned already.."you don't get points for doing the right thing". You did not do this guy any real favors...except not to rip him off.

But as to what I did recently that was a kewl thing I think...

Last January, I was on an "Elvis" cruise with my sweet wife and her folks. On the first night, I was in the bar having a beer when I noticed that a group of young guys were drinking pretty heavily and ordering drink after drink as well as ordering for the remaining few of the other passengers drinks.

I thought that was kewl. But I then noticed that the guy who was paying (with a ships id/room key card) was totally wasted and was out of it and the kids were running up charges on a strangers card. The bartender was totally happy to allow this to happen with the stranger signing the receipts without even looking.

I saw this happening and I just could not allow these punks to take complete advantage of this guy and running up hundreds of dollors in bar fees.

I told the bartender to stop allowing the punks to charge on the guys card...he did not listen to me. I then told the punks to stop spending the dudes money and they told me to "phuque off".

I called security and informed them of what was happening.

Well the next day, the very grateful old man came to me on deck and thanked me for saving him over $350 in bar fees that he had had reversed.

The bartender I presume was fired but I do not know.

He bought me a drink...I ordered a coke.

Anyway, thats my share.

I think I believe in karma, and I experienced it in my favor yesterday!! Picked up this chick to smoke a blunt, stopped at gas station to get said blunt lol, came back out to find my car's battery had died (I left the radio on stupidly)..

I asked 1 guy for a jump, didn't work.. I asked another guy for a jump (thinking the 1st guy had a shitty battery or something), and still nothing at all. Won't even click..

So I'm sitting at the store, on the phone, trying to get ahold of my tow-truck guy.. While i was waiting, i noticed some rust on my battery's Positive (+) terminal, I figured it wasn't the problem, but brushed it off best I could anyways.
........And while I was waiting at the store brushing off the battery, the 2nd guy who tried to jump me showed back up from his house (20min after he left) with his own jumper cables!! He gave me a jump, and this time, it worked!!

I gratefully thanked him, and as he was leaving he mentioned to me something along the lines of I should "pass it on" and help out a stranger in the future if I see them broken down on the side of the road.. I told him I definitely believe in Karma, and will do!!
...Gotta love when Karma benefits you!! :D
