Koolbloom

Koolbloom is a bit strong. (edit: It also costs to buy it as an 'extra' product)

I do the "H3ad" thing and use around 23ml of GH Flora Bloom instead. (would use more but I get burning when using the Maxibloom as the base nute).

I already have it and it HELLA denses up the nugs and packs on weight. The side by side was VERY noticeable.

Only twice in a flower run.... day 5 and about day 45, depending on strain.

23mls per gallon! thats waaaay more expense than using koolbloom in my 50 gal rez that would be 1150 ml of FNB costing like 35 bux

Dansbud, The feed schedule I was using when I noticed my vert growth was being stunted is-
5 gallons of bubbled water(24hrs)
25ml of LKB
25ml Cal/mag
30grams of Maxibloom
I had to go way back in my notebook for that info! LOL
Now that is a feed schedule for G13 Pineapple express and she is a nute whore! So you will want to adjust to where you think your plants needs are! I feed this mixure every 3 days from day 1 of flower! I noticed that all my plants were shorter when I feed them LKB from day 1! I now start LKB at day 14 of flower or there about! I have also not used LKB and found there was no real difference in the final outcome of the plants! But I just felt like they were a little healthier with it than without! I have also heard that Lkb has something in it to buffer your plant when you switch over to Pkb! just what In have heard!!

It's less than half a gallon for a 50gal rez or about $15. How much are you paying for Flora Bloom? That should only be about $25 a gallon.

That is a LOT though... perhaps I should pick up KoolBloom. LOL Thanks.

Edit: OH... I see you meant Flora NOVA Bloom... Nah... I don't use that shit anymore.

Is that- one watering every 5-10 days, or a res change out off and on?
What is your reason for hitting once here and there, rather than letting it go a week, or what would be a res cycle?

No, I hand-water via a sump pump, usually daily. I don't mix reservoirs, they're too temperamental (so am I).

I suppose my method appears to be a here and there kind of thing, but I've found it's just not necessary to use it with my normal regimen as anything but a booster, and I've found that every 10 days seems to be damn near the perfect combination for me. It allows me to push things as low as I possibly can (because I *am*, truly, a seriously cheap bitch, I don't like spending money that I don't have to, great for my husband because I don't run bank accounts dry) overall while getting those shots of P in where and when they're needed.

Because I've never run a reservoir it seems to me that one could (read: should) still go very low on the dosing rates, and alternate the weeks, beginning week two and ending two weeks prior to planned harvest.

This regimen that I'm recounting is based on a formula using alternating feedings of Floranova Bloom, which I start at around 2mls/gal and move up or down depending on response, with Fox Farms Big Bloom at the insanely low rate of 5mls/gal. I do tend to add sugar or molasses with the FF BB feeds, usually at a rate of around 1T/5gals. Molasses is given all the way through to finish at that rate.

I have both the liquid and powdered Kb, and I ended up not really using the liquid. A lot of what I'm writing is from memory and it's been almost two years since I've done a chem salt indoor run.

I've been doin a slightly modified "rezcipie" with koolbloom and GH nutes. (based off a 9 week flower cycle, might need to modify dates to fit your strain)

I use a WAY higher dose than you guys but far less often.

day 15/16 (I water once a day at this stage)

6mL micro/ 9mL bloom (the normal base feed)
and 1/2 tsp PER GALLON of KB powder (that's a shitload more than recommended dosage).

rez calls for doing the KB powder 'slam' for one feed at 1 tsp/gal, I do it over the course of two feedings at 1/2 his strength.

then on day 29/30

I still went with 2.5 mL/g micro at this date, but the actual rezcipie calls for cutting the it at this time. 9 mL bloom.

same thing with the KB powder, 1/2 tsp/gallon over the next two feedings only.

day 36/37

cut micro, 9 mL/gal bloom, 1/2 tsp/gallon KB powder.

I haven't gotten foxtailing buds unless it was genetically induced, my stuff ain't wispy and airy either.
I do supplement with a Cal Mag product and drip clean but that's it.

Yep... 2 bloom : 1 Micro. :D

edit: I too got tired of the sludge in the bottom of the res. Turns out they add actual dirt... to keep stuff from reacting and clumping up.

It's a mid grade strain nothing special, stalks are huge filled with buds almost mid way to the top but they dont seem to have much weight to them but they still have bascially all white hairs no amber yet and its almost 60 days 12/12 any suggestions?

Patience my freind 60 days is nothing, and koolbloom will do nothing at this point.
The hairs mean nothing unless you are familiar with the strain .what do the trics look like?

sit back and relax

A agree with you!!!!!
The rezcipe is a good easy nute schedule to play with. You can get excellent results plus there's room to play around with if thats your thing. And he explains how he uses koolbloom.

I would read that thread if I were your. there's some great info in this thread,

Did you already buy the koolbloom? Use it, if so.

I read the "H3ad Does Coco" thread and modified it for what I was doing. I'd suggest following the advice in that thread and going from there.

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:

high man, it turns out the thread is named 'H3ad GOES Coco', not DOES coco, lol, took me a minute to find it.

anyway, in an effort to help out here is a link to that thread for anyone else who might want to read it.

...and thanks for the tip, i'm sure i'll enjoy the read.

Thanks Jm420 im glad I got some feed back for mine, it is my thread ya know :D I gave it a dose of koolbloom ill continue to give it tap water and hold back on the floranova for a few days but the leaves are still browning with spots n such. To change the subject a little bit i Need to get a PH meter, any suggestions on the brand / type / and site to order it? not too expensive mind you. thanks for the feed back

yea I guess it got hijacked kinda eh.As for ph pen I have a oakton I bought for 80 dollars and it does the job but it doesnt last long they go funky after a year wont hold calibration and such, you could prolly get one for around 50, IMO its better to spend money and get quality that will last for a while instead of replacing a cheap one often

Where are the leaves that are spotting, and what's the pattern? That could be a Ca- or imbalance, or a K issue, or a P issue....

Get clear full plant pix up (no HPS shots if possible, please) and a lot of stuff can be told in a few minutes of examination.
