Well... I'm not so sure those dandelions and thistles are good test subjects. I mean, if they're already growing (likely when other stuff isn't, maybe?) then how would you know that it was the concoction's ingredients that brought about any change, or the liquid and additional water? Do you have anything else, some begonias maybe, that you can see if it'll kill vs ____________? It's not that I have anything against begonias, they just popped into my head.

Also, what if it does something amazing? Can you duplicate the 'recipe'?

on the subject of enzymes .........

do they/can they hurt the soil, or screw up the whole recycling process?

i have both mango and papaya FPE's cooking right now because i have the "waste" after i eat them. are they a waste of time? are all the enzymes destroyed in the process anyway?

should i just feed the stuff to the worms and/or throw it in the compost pile and let them do the work?

I have a wide variety of wildflowers to test on, I just don't know all their names so I just said those two. I live next to a prairie though, but it's fairly parched at the moment. I have been keeping track of what I put in there, but not super precisely. If it doesn't cause an EPA response team to show up, I might do a more precise experiment as a follow-up ;)

The seeds can be used to filter water as well. Ben oil from the seeds can be used for bio-diesel. There's stuff on youtube about how to make the teas and stuff. I was just curious how the nutrients per gram compares with the other materials we are using here.

Those drumsticks are also tastey in curry, they grow everywhere in india, ditten know they made oil from it.... keep it up Cootz

Just made 3 different EM fermentations,

1 with Alfalfa, Dryed Algea, Nettels, Dandilion and some melasse, that 1 is really producing alot off gas and fast.

2 with Yarrow, Dandilion, Camomille, dryed Algea and melasse, less gasproduction

3 just with, crushed wheat , dryed Algea and melasse, medium gas production

I monitor the pH and they are all dropping from 7.8, to 6 fore no1 and around 6.5 fore 2 and 3.

Do u other peps also monitor the pH and make sure there is absoluty no air in the container
also i am going to get some off that misu, that cootz linked to anybody tryed it out

Hi DK. What is melasse? I've been Googling and can't find anything on it.

And have you used the wheat before in FPEs? If it's posted here I've missed it. Also, what type of wheat?

What type of dried algae? Noori, or something processed for ag purposes, self-collected local macroalgae or something else?

Oh jeez..! Thank you. I was thinking it must be something exotic, but the word that kept popping into my head was 'morass' which led me to 'moraine.' It's all so geological.

Is the following a feasible perpetual supply option?

Fill a big 100 Liter with thing with material and cover with water. Then just sort of sample with replacement as you go?

I was thinking it could give the best of both worlds here (elements and compounds)

If a fresh brew of compounds is required put more fresh material in and over time the elements would be breaking down...

I would like to have a constant supply and be able to add this when I water all the fruit trees and normal plants growing around the yard as well. I think it may be easier to just have a big tank ready to go whenever the need arises sort of thing...

I do, I do indeed. Unfortunately, too mathematically declined to have gone for it as a major, so I dabble. I love looking at land formations, rocks, what have you and considering, How did it come to be this way? What came before? What was it like ________________ years ago?

What was northern California like when all those volcanoes were erupting? Man! That had to be a SHOW! I can't feel the uplift of the Sierra under my feet, but I like imagining it.

That's pretty cool....I am into old rivers, even though by training I am an ecologist. I have lived by the Deschutes and Columbia in Oregon and I am always fascinated by the dry watercourses in Central Oregon/Northern Cali.
Now, I go out and hunt greensand, pumice and perlite, that's where geology helps me the most.....plus its free shizz to gather up for me soil. :biggrin:

Next: basalt rock dust.....

And when i write dryed algea i mean Ascophyllum nodosum. i got a big bag from these guys
