Saving money is overrated. Instead, think about how you can MAKE more money to support a wasteful nonfrugal lifestyle.

So if my food budget for the month is $800. Instead of trying to cut back and save money by eating cheaper, I will begin thinking of ways to make an extra $800/mo to support this habit.

STOP buying $5.00 coffee's, Red Bulls & 5 hour energy drinks every day, instead go to bed 2/3 hours earlier so you'll stop feeling shitty @ midday and save yourself about 200-300 bucks a month.......

imagine feeling good enough to wake up early, make your own breakfast/coffee and also start packing your own lunch.

cha-ching!!!

reduce all the personal hygiene products down to the essentials.
i use soap, toothpaste and a deodorant crystal. that's it.

fuck expensive perfumes, lotions or shampoos. not necessary at all. (and fucking unhealthy to boot)

I was drinking two or more coffees a day @ dunkin donuts. I cut down to one a day and had a net savings of $15 to $20 a week.... $800 to $900 a year

How do you save $$?
I'll start.

Color inkjet cartridges from Staples for my basic home printer cost $28.
But on the internet they sell refilled/aftermarket cartridges for 9 bucks! Free shipping and you end up saving a lot.

:)

Don't print stuff. What was life like before printers?

piss outside
turn water on low for anything
pull out bulbs for multi-light fixtures
quick showers
no air-con
days off from using the car ( walk or bike )
days off from buying anything
always wait at least 2 months to see if you really want, what your wanting
spring clean every 6 months, sell off old shit, best benefit is clear energy..
buy used on the internet if possible ( books, DVD.... )
don't ever buy the newest thing
turn off inlines during the day in veg rooms
turn off all lights nobody is in the room of
never buy coffee at places ( starbucks.. )
limit the soda / pop, if your even into that
get rid of cell phone
quit paying for cable TV / HBO....

the most important thing is cultivate the mind.. it's amazing how less you can live on when you have a "healthy" mind... only unhealthy minds need material around them...

1. Going to the dollar store before the food store for: kitchen/cleaning/laundry/soaps and crap like 1 gallon buckets, turkey baster and "solo" cups for growing

2. Buy meats in bulk, separate in freezer bags right after buying so you can defrost a little at a time.

3. Sell prettiest grade A nugs, make hash with the rest for personal :tiphat:

4. Buy the $20 repair manual (and use internet resources) to fix own car

5. Save 15% or more by switching car insurance (seriously though, shopping for best rates for car/home insurance, mortgage, other loans)...

6. Someone mentioned earlier...calling cable and phone companies and trying to negotiate for a lower rate...

7. Agree on making own coffee....I make the highest of quality coffee in the morning (manual pourover method, RO water, fresh ground..........) and put it in one of those big old school green insulated thermos's. I'm calculating that it's costing me under $2.00 per day for 4-5 big cups of great coffee while others are spending more at work making crap coffee with their Keurig machines....Add making own lunch and it adds up!
