Thanks for the tip Frank, I got some CalMag for this run! im going to be using it at 1/2 dose with the maxibloom.

My water ppm is like...20...

Its so clean.. so i figure some Maxi and some calmag should do the trick! :)

Thanks for poppin by!

Looking alot better ehh!!

Also, from the earlier comments I decided too do a 24 hour test, im taking the 2nd most vigorous plant and I am going to stop top feeding it and just use the old style of side injection. See how it effects my plant. Just out of curiosity.

If it keeps growing then ill do the same of the other plants... if not.. ill go back to top feeding.

So until the chiller gets here im going to keep on vegging :) There mostly bushing out so I raised the lights a little.. if they get any bigger than 16 inches ill top them. :)

Anyways, thats all for today!

Keep growing.

Looking good man. I would definitely use the extra veg time to try and bush them out as much as possible to up your yields. Seems like you have a good amount of space between each one. I would also start to strip some of the lower stuff that won't get as much light.
Best of luck with the rest of the grow

Totally brother, to be honest I got about 5 ft of space and they stretched at least 2x there last run when I vegged to 2.5ft ...... 1.5ft is a good hight to hit the switch. It got a bit too overcrowded last time...

As of this morning there is no negative implications on the plants... going to keep going.

Chillers here, hooked up and working! plants are healthy nice lush green and reaching for the light!

Today is the first day of flower! Wish me luck!!

Hey dude, looks good so far.
I googled "KISS Icmag" and this was second hit, haha.

Heres some shots of my Reflectix install today!

I " Hah'd " at this momentarily, 'cause it reminded me of when people on the car forums talked about car batteries and how they had'em "installed" at the store. Me and a friend would laugh and say to ourselves "oh! you mean dropped into... you mean placed under the hood?" Lol (why is there no 'eye roll' smiley).
Looks great though and should perform well.

Keep us updated..pun intended, if you like.

First rez change and it was completely not needed so im going to do add backs this next 2 weeks then do a change!!

Here are the shots, what a huge growth in a matter of a week. The ladies are super happy I can spot some of the early flower growth! I really have a good feeling about this run.

Also, what a huge difference the chiller and reflectix made.. Temps a constant 66-67 roots are PEARLY white..

So as of today, I used some of my left over Roots Excel, Multizyme and a low dose of cal mag.
PPM's at a solid 900 and PH is 5.8.

So leave me some messages, leave me some feedback!

Or just say hello!

Picked up some kool bloom today, I must say although this grow is going great, its kind of boring I don't have things to do each day ect... Its just change a rez move a light or 2... Easy Peasey

Update:
Ok, as of tomorrow we start week 3... We got a little more stretching to go but everything looks great.

Today I cut down some of the lower area's that were shaded and were visibly producing slower than the rest of the plant. I also tied up the plants with some wire to keep them upright. The bud production is coming along nicely all the sites are exploding.

As for right now, I have never grown a plant that has been doing this well so i'm VERY excited.

Also I haven't checked the roots in awhile and to my delight... there like some crazy strong white spaghetti. First time for me to have roots that look like this!! Im very happy about this as well!

I moved my lights a little higher as I want the plants to stetch upwards a bit in this last week of stretch, if they don't no biggie I got some nice plants to SMOTHER with lumens :p

EC is currently 2.0 as of next week I will begin using BUD XL by house and Garden as I have 2/3 a bottle left.

Without Further Adeu!
PS: Sorry about the HPS

Root porn at its finest.

So ladies and Gent's leave a comment let me know how your grows are going! Or give me some advice!

Update, first off sorry about picture quality. I took it from my phone and it dident like me today.

Also, things are great. I couldn't complain at all!

Day 19:

Things are really ahead for me, I've never had plants grow so fast. When I get my good camera back this week I'll take some nice shots. If you could see close there are already a nice bead of Tri's already developing. The next 3 weeks we should really put on the size so im excited :).

PS: I lost my outdoor to "The Man" ... Choppers picked em up on a fly over... sad day... but at least I still got these...

Looking good.

Nothing beats RDWC growth for big plants.

I think you made the right decision to top feed over the hydroton. Recharging water with oxygen happens along the surface of the water, by top feeding the water spreads out very thin over hundreds or thousands of square inches depending on your net pot size. This is the most effective way I have found, better than anything else. Air pumps become useless once you start 24/7 high flow top feeding over hydroton, you simply don't need them any more, which will also help with your water temp.

Little bit of claw on a couple of the leaves looks like they might prefer a lower EC.

I think your recirc system is top notch, and you should leave it just as it is. Very similar in design to my veg room. As the water drains into the large pipe from the single buckets you have more mixing, and fast moving water exposed to air the whole way down the pipe, and then I didn't see, but I imagine it must waterfall into the res, keeping your res constantly oxygenated as well. Well done.

Some people short change themselves by just running a bottom drain back to the res, and using a float valve to control the level, robbing themselves of much more oxygenation from the same pump, much less efficient. With the design you have, your buckets are also all the same level, while only your control res drops, no need for a float valve.

No float valve allows more control over the res, as you can see how exactly the plants change the solution PH and EC to better read what they are doing. If you have auto-add backs of any type, how the plants have changed the solution will be skewed by whatever was added back in.

I think you'll be very successful with the system you designed. The only change I would possibly make is moving to a larger grow container than a 5g bucket.
