Im gonna be making the switch over to coco in the near future but until
then soil it is. Ive been reading the KISS thread and really like what im seeing over there. Ive been using pbp for years and need to make a change. Is there anyone out there using Maxibloom /w soil? How are your results? My next run is going to be Bluedream- 5 gallon air pots - Maxibloom - R/O water - Tropf Blumat. Looking for some inspiration. Peace LL

I've been watering my outdoor with maxi, so far so good. I didn't start feeding them intill I noticed some problems, meaning the soil was depleated of nutes now I just water from there on out with maxi. No problems yet.

What PPM do you get right outta the tap? From what ive read it seems that Maxibloom lacks CA/MG whih is commonly found in tap water. So If your using R/O you might have to supplement with a cal-mag additive. If your tap comes out with a PPM of less than 350 ide say just aerate your tap and go with that.

Mine comes out at 250, haven't seen any cal/mag problems. I don't aireate my tap either. Put water in 5 gallon water jug, mix nutes, shake like Hell and water. Not saying its the best but works for my outdoor. Indoor whole different story I run r.o. water to 55 gal res. Mix in nutes.ph from there and then water my coco. Even with the r.o. I haven't needed any cal/mag. Strains are different though

What's your soil mix consist of? (The reason I ask is because I wouldn't recommend heavily ammending your soil if you're going to use maxibloom. )

I run pro-mix hp + perlite + ewc with maxibloom, have had great results. First run yielded 315g from a 400w. Have also ran maxibloom previously under my CFL lights with great results.

fukndenny what you asked could be the one that stops me right there. Im using root organic that has everything under the sun in it. Id hate to burn these to death so maybe ill hold off till next run and ill go straight coco. Gives me 10 weeks or so to read up and get my stuff straight. Peace LL

Hey LifeLess - I run a micro SOG now w just GH MaxiBloom in flower. I friggin love it! Like Denny said too, my dirt is just potting soil, perlite, vermiculite and EWC. My water is pretty hard so I don't have any issues with the cal/mag. I used to see all sorts of deficiencies before, but since switching to the GH it's all good. Anyways, good luck man, always like watching your stuff...

Maxibloom and soil work very well together! I have used different soil types(store bought) And have made up my own! I have learned that maxi will work with most any soil mixture that you can throw at it! You can amend your soil with most any thing you want just watch for nute burn! If you use a pre-fert soil do not mix maxi full strength! If you use ro water you will need cal/mag additive of some sort! PH is where you have to find your sweet spot! I have ran my PH in soil anywhere from 5.8-6.8 depending on strain! Dont ask I dont know why I just tinker til I find the sweet spot for any given strain and write it down and it works! I do bubble my water, and use cal/mag! I use 5.5 grams per gallon in veg and 7 grams per gallon in flower( maxibloom), the stuff is amazing and ez.( ak 48 gets 8.5 grams per gallon) I feed/feed/feed/water the hell out if them! kinda like a flush! But do realize different strains need different schedules and different amounts of nutes! Learn to read your plants and only give them what they want! BTW I have used in soil, soiless, DWC and hempy with basicly the same mixture per strain! Kinda strange that it works that way!

also buy a blender for $5 and use it to mix maxi works wonders trust me!!! Just saw the bluemats part buy some dripclean if you use maxibloom!

TexMex McDirt Thanks for the info. Im gonna hold off this run and go all in on my next one. Im not sure how this KISS thing got by me for this long. Has me wondering what other great threads on here are hiding from me. Been awhile sence ive done any micro grows. Thanks again for the words.

TokerAce good lookin out brother. I will deff go with a blender and whats with the drip clean? Keep things flowing good? Ive never done any measuring sence starting this hobby. PPM/PH whats that? J/K . Never had any issues but ive been in my comfort zone for way to long. Im ready to step it up to coco. TY peace LL

Drip clean helps flush all the build ups out and keep everything clean! it is a H&G product and a little pricey!

fukndenny is right. I grow organic and pushed my luck by adding maxibloom. Luckily it was just a few plants, but one of them (my best sour d) started locking up just 3 weeks from harvest. I couldn't get it back. I'd err on the side of safety when using it. Good luck.

yeah playing with organics and then chems and the other way around can really freak a plant out especially in flower.
