How Do You Guys........

decide on how much weed youre going to grow each season. Me?...

I smoke 1oz per wk = 52ozs per year
Bums for family/friends = 12ozs per year
Seeds. bulbs, dirt, ferts = 4oz per year( $800)

As you can see, i need to harvest 68ozs per season: just over 4lbs to make it until next 0ct 15.

I have to see 12 plants successfully thru till harvest to be successful. In a good year i come in a few lbs over for hard times, a bad year(drought) im worried to death. This year im looking good... so far.

Im curious. What's your thinking when you order your seeds?

well, I don't order seeds. my sativa seeds come up under a fruit tree in my garden whenever the spring rain's right. always have a plant for seed and I throw the seeds under the fruit tree at the end of each season.

I transplant about forty and select down to whatever I think is right. perhaps 15. then after a while I plant them out.

they're big mothers and weather permitting the yield is good.

I don't smoke much myself, gave heaps away this year to a friend who's in the end stages of cancer ... and I won't say what I do with the rest ...

I don't buy seeds either, I have been breeding for a few cycles now and growing only the beans I produce, so far so good. I probably need to start reading in the breeding forums about better results, but I have been so concentrated on dialing in my organic setup, I haven't found time.

I also go thru about 30 girls maybe from the end of April to end of October-ish. I do a few OD plots but then force a few here and there for personal enjoyment until October's [hopefully] harvest concludes.

I have a terrible back and I am mmjp, so I try to stay with my confines, but I go thru about 2/3rds the same amounts as you were claiming.

During the grow season I also consume less, lol. Then its on!

I ask myself, 'What is the biggest garden on this hill?' then I do twice that much.

I start Mothers early enough to get cuts to go out in May. I use a 7-site Aerogarden to clone and just clone as many as I can until the end of July...Not particularly a scientific or even organized method but it usually works out well.

I didnt have any idea really what responses i would get, except that i did expect to hear about the dreams of granduer of some to grow a 100lbs or more, but nope.

Its interesting to hear why and how people react or act with regaurd to the size and nature of their grow. I have a buddy that grows a few plants of 8 or more strains per season, always looking for taste and effect. I have another one that seems more interested in growing organic than the actual strain or amount he grows and another that just wants lbs of smoke and as long as you can get a good buzz, he couldnt care less about anything else.. Reasons and methods of growing are as numerous as there are strains to grow.

The amount of time and man power that can be put into it, without compromising quality, is the main determining factor. Have not bought seeds in many years either, I find most of the strains vendors sell kinda suck, the best genetics usually are not the ones up for auction...
