Picking the right house

Hey guys here's some info I need help from some of the amazing minds on this site.

Planning my first grow 2kw:woohoo:. Going to rent. Would like to do a bedroom set-up, mother/clone & veg section (maybe in closet or bathroom/tent/ or just separate room) and a 2 light flower room... still open to the idea of 2 tents. Would it be easier to break down 2 tents or 2 rooms faster (in case of emergency inspections, etc)?

I plan on running soil, 8-12 plants per light, fans, scrubber, etc, been stocking up on seeds, hopefully will be getting some clones.

My climate is very hot but not humid at all. In the winter it gets cool. It's desert climate with no humidity. Not a lot of basements around here if any. Will probably throw a mini split in the flower room because I will definitely need it during summer. Temperatures skyrocket. So don't really think it would look suspicious to add extra AC unit. Almost all homes have attatched garages for easy and stealthy access from car to house for bringing in supplies etc.

Anything else I should be looking for in this rental considering my situation?

Also, when planning to rent and speak to potential landlords should I tell them that I get paid under the table? I have a real full-time job, completely legal, make only $15 hour but its all under table. Have been doing this for over a year so I haven't had to worry about this for a while. My only conern is telling a landlord I have a job where I get paid under the table and setting off alarms. Maybe I'm just paranoid. It is a buyers/renters market.

Thanks guys!
:dance013::thank you::tiphat:

Edit: I have about 12k saved. I would like to keep this grow budget to 3-4k. and keep the rest for emergency purposes and all the unexpected costs that I hear pop up during a grow. Thanks!

Suggest you substitute "paid under the table" for "I am an independent contractor, I subcontract my services.".*

It sounds more legit and many people including small business owners, carpenters/plumbers/contractors, sales professionals, and others work as independent contractors.

*Edited to add: Small business owner also works. If you get paid "under the table" (which is not illegal) you can file your taxes as an independent contractor (i.e. "small business owner", every small business owner is an independent contractor because his income is not derived from a company paying him).

Electrical is going to be your big problem. Usually rentals have 15a per room.
Sounds like your gunna be sport'in about 25 or 30 amps total.
Look for electric dryers and figure out another way to dry your close.

/\ yea that's a big plus to me. And the fact that I'm not handy at all probably makes tents my best option. I know I could handle building my own room if I put my mind to it, the only thing that would really sell me on the tents is if I can purchase a top of the line high quality product and be able to dial in a perfect environment. I need to grow A+ so I can't be dealing with flimsy cheap tents with light leaks. I've heard secret jardin?

I know nothing about that line of work though really. And wouldn't my taxes show that I don't have the income of a typical private contractor setting off more alarms? I dunno, I'm kinda paranoid about how to approach this whole part of the equation only because there will be a grow in the house. I just don't want to cause an ounce of suspicion. I think it may be best just to be honest. There are many many people who make their living getting paid under the table doing completely legal jobs, they need homes too, and most probably rent.

I'm really just not too sure how strict PMG (Private Management Groups) are at verifying employment? I had a regular "on paper" job for a while that ended back in January. Not sure if I could play it off like I still work there?

Thanks a lot for the replies guys!!

Tell the landlord you are an independant contractor or self employed and fill out some fake M99 tax forms for last year as you 'proof of income'. I've been working random jobs for the past year and have had to fill out a few of those!
Oh and if you are not handy at all and can afford it invest in a tent. I've spent the past two weeks learning basics of sawing, drilling, driving, toe screwing etc to put together a frame for a 8x8 room. I soo wish I had he extra money to buy a tent and the past few weeks of my life back!
Good luck bro! I'm just as much as a noob as you so I I can't offer much advice:)

DonDon im using a secret Jardin and its great. Fast set up and is an even faster break down. Only suggestion is on any tent you go with the zipper are alittle stiff till you use them and loosen them up. GL LL

Secret Jardin makes a good tent, my last setup consisted of a 4x4 and 2 5x5 tents running 2500W total amongst veg and bloom.

Having said that, I would suggest finding a place with a basement that has a washer dryer setup and use the outlet for 240 power.
The only reason I was able to run so many tents in my last setup is that there was 3 different 15 amp outlet runs for me to use, in most situations you wouldn't be able to use two tents in a single room due to inadequate power.

If you go the basement route just take a room down there and split it with a 2x4 wall and panda. it will be much cheaper and the 2x4s will come down faster than two tents will. I am also finding that with a controller I am able to run a whopping 6k in lighting if I so choose with the dryer outlet.

Try telling him you get paid under the table. <shrug>

I'd imagine your landlord would only want to check 2 things (1) you have a reliable source of income and (2) your credit showing that you can be trusted to pay him on time.
