getting There from Here to realize...

getting There from Here to realize...

....that Here is There...and that it's meaningless to exist outside the moment. To do so...is a nonstop journey into noise. So how is it...I plan these expression ventures...the drift of pollens...collection of pools?

In a moment: I observe...I consider the population as they draw my eyes...then I start to kill. The attractions survive...the distractions do not. There is no thought

^ 5 days in coco....the pool of Hell Hound IX1 sprouts is coming up on a bend of selection...the river becomes more narrow...stronger currents suck under the weak...the non-attractions...those that should not see another day

* I need only 12 females for the run....and maybe 2 or 3 males if I'm feeling like an inline.

I don't count out beans...I go by the pinch measurement. In nature...it's all about #s....the many rise...but only the few make it through the cycle.

Since that picture was taken...I've reduced the population. Stood over them and culled the slower risers...and some that were clustered up tightly...and a few just for the sake of randomness.

Over the course of the next 5 days or so...I'll keep killing them off whenever I feel like I need to. One here...4 or 5 there....here/there (the same)....until I transplant them into beer cups.

The plants sex in beer cups....but up until sexing...I'll still be culling...though much less...and less frequently. By the time they sex...the # will probably be bit less than twice to that I need.

Sexed plants...by this stage...have made it a long ways....so they are really fighting for one of those flowering slots. 12 is the magic # for the run. A dozen females....will tell me all I need to know about how the Hell Hound IX1 express out.

* If I don't see the desired expressions in a run of 12 females....something is not up to par

40 Degree morning

40 Degree morning

The pit is enveloped in a cold sink of mountain air. One is reminded of suspended animation when looking down on a bulk mass of drooping leaves...but...it's better than being reminded of black frost death

You can see the plants are filling out their home. It is becoming harder and harder to move around down in there. I'm not planning on doing much...as far as...training, staking, caging etc....letting things free style unless I need to step in....to save them from any sort of damage.

Basically...it's a lot of water hauling....about 12 gal a day must be moved down into the pit at this stage. I'm foreseeing that amount increasing as we go into hot flowering August and September. I'll be mixing in straight flushes of water....as well as molasses infused waterings. In the outdoors....you can get away with a lot more...messing with mixes etc...everything gets eaten quickly.

Continuing to keep the pit area hosed down....helps to cool things down during 90-100 degree days...pushes the RH up during the evening hrs....any added moisture aids the plants from drying out too much.

Growers that are strictly indoors probably think OD growing is exceptionally easy. This is not true. There are problems just as in the indoor world. Often these problems are amplified by the sizes of the plants...and the fluxing environment. Indoors has the advantage of controlling environment....whereas...the outdoor world will be controlled by almost nothing at all.

When shit gets stinky....and if the winds switch up directions...finger crossing is about all you have in your tool box. Pulling off clandestine grows...while doing it in plain sight...is a very touchy game to play. Not everyone in California is pro pot growing...trust me on that.

* looking at the plants...seems there is a lot of sativa influences. Going to be some thick ass girls

i would love to have a well made greenhouse here, and the freedom to grow in it of course, this would be an ideal spot for christmas/new years harvest hazes...

Greenhouses are the answer in most cases. Greenhouse growing in this micro climate would still be a challenge though. Figuring it will be close to 90 degrees in the pit today....from 40 to 90 in 6hrs or so...is crazy flux. A greenhouse would still require a lot of daily fine tuning...to keep things stable.

My concern with a greenhouse....Santa Ana winds. It would have to be built like a fortress.

Looks totally wild,P. The idea of growing outside is pretty foreign, yet romantic to me. It would have to be autos under some kind of plastic or glass to keep em dry and warm in our cold, wet summers and even colder and wetter autumn...I'll live vicariously through your pit triplets and the other OD stuff I follow here, for the time being.

Boy,howdy...I'd never guess that this had some kind of kush for parents for the last two generations....not the way I think of ''kush'' at least...shows how much I know. I wonder,is that Odessa being dominant for growth-traits or is it the sativa in OG coming out?
Would these look as ''sativa'' indoors? Why do I even care? Looks tasty either way, right?

My Man.....

My Man.....

"....that Here is There...and that it's meaningless to exist outside the moment"

Humans have the knack of living outside the moment and that's their blessing and their curse. "Be Here Now" was the slogan in the 1970's after Ram Dass and others raised that flag....living it is the challenge.

^ THAT...is the way to go. Nice and comfortable....best of all worlds. More how I was thinking of doing it. Plain sight but concealed..that's how I like doing things. Much more artistic.

Ever since I read a book on ancient western native culture...I've been enlightened to the ways of kiva living. Stay low....stay under radar...wind...and everything else.

* I don't need the weed...I just like pulling off my kiva grow. I'm an outdoor grower at heart. I wouldn't mess with the indoor if it were not for the speed I can go through the generations....when breeding. The outdoors is way more exciting.

** Staying present...staying out of the noise

This is Fuck Show selection #1 as she stands this day

For review:

#1 was the slowest vegger...by far...way slower than her sisters. She exhibited the most indica traits during veg...in fact...was the only sister that felt like an indica. Plainly....she stuck out.

I've stated that my guess would be that the Katsu Bubba Kush...though washed in Bubba G....pushed itself out of the mix to dominate #1. Not as evident now...

A goal in making The Fuck Show was to see how a mild/washed injection of indica would benefit Hell Hound. Reasoning that I'm shooting for lines unique to my physical environment/tastes....arid cactus in flower structure....gnarled flowers...tough expressions with deep fragrances...thick resin coverage....SHORT SEASON flower Xs...where was I?

O...I expect to see unique expressions in the pit. If anything were to dominate...I believe it would be Ghost OG...but honestly...I'm thinking these plants will be their own thing. Plant expressions will change between indoor and outdoor...but not really that much besides size...I mean: the expressions remain the same at their core. Lumens/spectrums influence flavor/potency...but it still has be there 1st. Swimming in ability.

Performance oriented expressions. I look at the pit grow as a drag race. Motors have been built...frames have been built...everything is fine tuned to a perfect burping rumble. Knowledge of the track and its weather...well hell....it's my home track....rip it up

Few pictures of Fuck Show selection #3

Few pictures of Fuck Show selection #3

I am a watering fool. We have had no rain...beyond a sprinkle since I can't remember when. I water mornings....I water nights under a head lamp...hot dry windy days evaporates water as fast as it gets laid down.

Still around 12 gals a day...following the trail down into the pit. Plants are being fed salts...intermixed with waterings of blackstrap...gots to be careful using molasses...as it attracts ants if it is left to linger long in the coco.

My mediums are well blended by this stage...there are lots of nutrients flowing through...some vegan teas...and god knows what else...I'm flushing through. You must get that medium broken in just so imo...so that it's constantly feeding...leaving traces therein..resurrecting with each addition of feed...a balance in hydroponics/medium feeding.....so much more efficient if it were to be on a drip....yet no...even that would take a lot of work...more work than it's worth for this outing

Enough of the bullshit huh?

ok then...The #3 selection is becoming electric

She is turning on nicely....* note the exhibit of 3 finger leaves towards her tops (neither of her sisters are showing this)....previously I considered her a nondescript expression...thought maybe I'd fucked up my selection for the 3rd slot in the pit.

* I do not know why I chose selection #3 originally. Physically...she did not stand out especially well...not sure why she got the nudge over the hill. Could be one of those....6th sense kind of deals. A silent conversation between beings...in a patterned world that exists...if only for a second....recognizable then lost and gone away

The point is....that I'm starting to get into her...pay her more attention...and in this....we find each other happy. She...me...the birds and the bees

Seedlings Are Tuff

Seedlings Are Tuff

Transplanting from the bin into beer cups...if you let the starts grow for 5 days (above medium) they have enough root system to...simply...scoop them out with bare fingers. You don't need to be overly nice...kind of a point to being rough. It's not a fair world

So look here...beer cups starts another wave of selection...some are singles....some are pairs...some are more than pairs...but it's all about competition to make it to the next level.

Last Day Of July

Last Day Of July

From left to right....Fuck Show expressions 3 1 2 as they are...this last day of July

Under a layer of outer edge T-cells...humidity is up...different spectrums of light come through...everything in this dry world...is breathing in deeply. A gardeners wet dream....if...the rains can come...otherwise it is duly manufactured by hose and hoser...to magnify the RH advantages

The sisters are very close to the beginning of heavy Phosphorus blasting....flowers are starting to take shape...there has been some very manageable stretching/bushing out...but really...the girls are more interested in filling out flowers. Very sporting expressions....sporting vibe going on...they have trained hard and long for their events.

A general idea of how the flowers are filling in this day (05 AUG)...going to be some fatties

Rolling along...lots of sun...hot...no rain....

* I am using molasses every day....almost every feeding....also liquid seaweed...vegan tea..epsom salts..silica...on top of the GH bloom, micro, and powder Kool Bloom. Outdoors...you can give them anything you want and in high doses. I'm flooding their mediums every feed...so that they are constantly flushing through. You can almost see the plants sucking up nutrients.
