I got B&G locked in at $10.95 for FFOF due to there price war with Roots .

roots always beat any and every price b&g threw at me.... .. roots also have a better discount system..... I like b&g back when they were in their old location ( it was so lowkey )..

Brew and Grow is great but I usually frequent a small shop in the north burbs called Goldman's. It's closer to me and cheaper.

I got all those freebies as well. I'm running the Blue Mystic now, she grows very fast in veg and stretches a lot. I also ran the Bubba '76 a few times. Solid indica, the pre-98 pheno is fire and easy to find. Let us know how the Special Queens go.

I enjoyed the blue mistic, neutral smells, tastes like red wine. I am experiencing some sort of deficiency with my sq1 i've never seen, i think it's cal or mag. Orangey spots on my large mature fans.

I add 1 ml per gallon CaliMagic as suggested when using RO in my 30 gal holding tank and go a little lean usually say 20ml, think I need more? I'll start by taking a ph reading of my run off today. My medium is basically the moonshine mix, FFHF/FFOF/Fruit n flower 5/8/4 and nothing but RO water with CaMg added as well as some Roots Trinity weekly.

Thanks friends.

Go 3-5 mils c/m that'll fix her right up :D

 Thanks a ton! Soil PH is low too, like 5.6 all around. My digital soil ph tester was broke as fuck apparently, will be PHing run off from now on. Gonna break up the top layer of soil and add a tablespoon of lime and water it in.

Hey DG, how are the space queens doing now? Isn't moonshine mix organic? I was under the (possibly mistaken) impression that ph didnt matter so much in organics... But ive had plenty of cal mag deficiencies in my time, and that's with tap, usually calmag or epsom clears it up. But sounds like that one particular strain is finicky, which can be frustrating.

Abita, i hope one of your deep chunk crosses makes it...

Thanks for the chart DJ, much obliged. Babbabooey, yes the moonshine mix is organic, and to the best of my knowledge with the PH and organics thing, i believe it only means water ph. I would think that soil PH is still an issue becauseif the ph isn't in a healtjy range, i assume the nutrients are not fully soluable to the roots. I could be wrong. I topdressed with 3 tbsp of dolomite lime and the ph is slowly creeping its way back up now.

I am definately switching to DWC buckets for my next run. Invested so much in soil. Like to conserve a bit more and yield a lot more. Thanks everyone.

My first attempt at growing was with DWC. Check out Rumpleforeskin's grow threads at grass...city. He grew some hellacious buds in a one or two 5gallon bucket DWC setup.
Myself, I had some successful harvests but also sometimes had issues with nasties because my water temps weren't low enough, if you dont use a chiller and your ambient temps are warm you may have to use some sort of disinfectant in the water (DM Zone, Florashield, maybe even just chlorine if you want to go simple?).
There's also Blazeoneup's Recirc DWC thread on icmag, think you can use beneficials in that one because the res contains lava rocks for bennies to inhabit? Never tried it, and don't know if you want to go that big...
Also, i found it time consuming and a bit of a pain to make all the buckets myself, but the GH Waterfarm buckets seem like a close proxy to DWC buckets, and they make a recirculating add on kit as well, although from the instructions i think it uses 2 gallons of hydroton per bucket. Gro rocks are reusable but can be tedious to clean...

Maybe one of the most informative and straight forward posts on this whole forum Baba. Rep+

Thanks dude. I have never done any hydroponics, but from the research i've done on these DWC buckets, there's even old dudes growing awesome herbs and veggies in them on their deck on youtube. Must be relatively user friendly. my room stays about70degrees and 50% rh and my tent stays at about 80 degrees and 50% rh.

THe special queens seem to be getting chunkier and I'm not noticing the damage from whatever deficiencies occured spreading to the rest of my fans! This is the end of week 4. I need to get a real camera in here to take pics but it's close quarters in my home made 5x6x6 with 12 ladies.

Thanks DG. DWC was my first attempt at growing so i know a bit about it, or at least what not to do, lol.
Also, if you do make your own DWC bubble buckets a la Rumpleforeskin, make sure you get a powerful air pump to blow bubbles, something along the lines of Gen Hydro's dual diaphragm air pump. I used the cheapy walmart aquarium air pumps and it worked, barely, but with bubble buckets you want to move as much air as possible.

Hey Abita, how do you store your seeds? I guess for real long term storage you want to store them in the freezer, in a sealed container, maybe with a bit of rice grains in there to absorb any moisture? Which I guess i should do myself, as i have my seed stash just sitting in a drawer, lol...

pretty much the same as you, sealed up in a dark area with constant temp of low 60s. never really had any germ problems other then when I knew I was dealing with really old seed stock to begin with.
