Workhorse 8 wiring question

I have a fullham workhorse 8 ready to be wired to 4 55w PLLs. I've looked at many wiring diagrams but I have a question.

What is the safest way to splice the yellow wire to all four sockets?
I'm not that great at electronics and I don't want to burn down the house.

Thanks

I use 2 strand lamp wire for each socket. One strand goes to a red lead, the other goes to the single yellow. You can braid all of the strands for yellow to that lead and bind them with a wire nut.

Another way is to get four single wires and tie them to the yellow lead with a wire nut. These four wires can then go to each of the applicable wires of the 2 strand lamp wire that goes to the socket.

The first thing I would do is call 1-323-779-2980. That is fulham and ask for technical support. You sound about like me and this was something I needed walking through on. For what it's worth I don't think the workhorse 8 is designed for 4 x 55 watt bulbs. It will do 3 though. I know for a fact they say do not do 2 x 55 watts. Ask them to send you a picture. They sent one to me but I can't find it. Also make sure your your lamp socket is wired correctly. I had an 8 hole socket and they sent me a picture of that as well. I don't know if Tilt is still active but he is a wealth of solid information and has a great setup using pll's. Good luck.

Yeah, that works fine. :)

It's not designed for 4 x 55, but I ran two ballasts like that for a few years, no issues. I DID have the ballasts constantly cooled to around 75F though. :D

Your mileage may vary. :)

Stay Safe! :blowbubbles:
