Where to learn glassblowing?

Awhile back I called into this one glass artists shop and inquired about an apprenticeship, he said that was a possibility but the drive was too far for me to make with any kind of regularity. I've been interested in picking it up, maybe just as a hobby at first, don't wanna take myself too seriously..

So yeah hows that happen?

Apprenticeship is the only way into it that I'm aware of. Unless you have the $$ to buy a furnace and all the tools and a place to put said gear and go the trial and error method. It's an art form and takes quite a bit of practice to master.

have you explored the possibility that your days off (if you're working) coincide with days the glassblower works? maybe arrange to work w/him 2 days a week while you spend one night in a motel to make it happen.......

if you've got an indoor garden you can usually prepare for leaving it overnight.
