I guess the moral of this story is; if you create something awesome don't let it out of your room unless you are ready to capitalize on it yourself. Because if you let it out and over hype it there is always someone watching and waiting; ready to swoop in and take it to the bank.
The real loser in this is the guy who made it, the real winner is the first guy to get it to market and ride the wave of hype $$$ that has been generated.
The hard work has been done by all of you, almost 300 pages of hype, now one guy will walk away with all the loot.
the guy who was kind enough to give out the GSC cuts to ICmag HASNT RECEIVED SHIT BACK IN RETURN from any of those who are gonna cash in on this and its not like he never asked...hes well aware of the capitolization on his generosity... thats how the game goes i guess, try to squeeze as much as you can out of people without giving anything in return....this whole shit made me realize alot about the seed industry and how they operate. so congrats, enjoy your money...if you ever decide to take care of the one who gave you the golden ticket please feel free to do so...ive already compensated homie for his generosity and im not in the seed business, we talked about how new standards should be set in that industry but that really flew out the window seeing the mad rush by other breeders to get GSC to market.....now we are tempted to combine efforts with a few friends and flood the server fund with affordable cookie s1s and crosses....there will not be a monopoly on something that was intended to help out others within the circle and was whored out with no regards...the first seeds have already been harvested, should we run testing or just get them to market with zero testing and zero knowledge of their instability, uniformity, etc to cash in on all the people with their money orders ready to send out......i already know they would sell out quick but im inclined to at least pop a few and see what they are like but i guess those standards are shit in the seed business...says the guy who just dropped 300 bucks on untested moonshine crosses lol........

Disagree. I believe ethics and morals are MORE important in a FREE market than in a fake ass government controlled market. You know how many TRILLIONS were stolen by the ethical businessmen and their creative mortgages, in the lily white AmeriKant Dream housing market?
Y4P has helped bring more love into the world, and unfortunately he gets to receive a bunch of shit and flack in return.
Doesn't matter tho because Y4P and others don't need love, money, or approval to have the greatest flowers in the world. The fact that he generously shares (overgrows) and asks for nothing in return ensures that he will never have to ask, and will never be empty.
haha thanks but im not talking about myself...i have asked for $ in return because at that point if you pay for it fair and square you can do whatever you want with it IMO....but when you are gifted something unique and then try to run to the bank without helping out the original person i view that in a different light...especially when they cashed out 2500 bucks to obtain the real deal in the first place and gave it out free of charge to friends. thats an investment that these seed companies did not have to pay and have not offered to compensate with anything...
im not taking shots at CSG or other companies they are just doing what they do, its america and this is business, if you give out your ideas with no patents and restrictions people will steal your idea and run with it.. but il be damned if people think they have a market monopoly on this...people were bragging about their crosses before they even had their cuts rooted. im not saying shit about what we are working on until i actually know the end product will be something that the market will not complain about.. when you go out and say "im gonna have ***x **** available in 1 month" and then you realize the cross didnt yield the best results are you gonna pull it from production like karma did when testing research showed varying results? most likely not, still gonna push them to market and cash in anyways...such is the nature of the majority of seed companies...salute to those that actually work their lines, do beta testing and document the various phenos that come out of each cross...

oh ya and shit lump them cookies look husky! and if nothing else the clone donor should receive seeds from said ventures. I mean let's keep it funky there's gonna be a lot of pollen flying meaning a lot of packs meaning a lot of money so it's the least that could be done. now people know where to and where not to send the next good clone.

Wow!!! What a thread...this shit is funny and f'd up at the same damn time. I'm a little lost though so the icmag cut isn't even the real cut??? Why doesn't someone holla at berner(you know he has real cookies) and pay the money for the authentic cut and self it, sale cuts, whatever to the folks on here to rival the prophiteers without morals as I've heard stated. A few thousand would be a great investment, plus you could bill it as the official cut.

I agree...that's why I say everything is fair game we're talking an illegal product...plus places are selling cookies...there's more than one resource for sourcing besides the cookie thread on this board.
When i got the cut i thought about bustin hella cuts out n sellin um for hella hi. i didnt tho, just doesnt seem right since i was gifted the cut for free. ive given it to bout 4 or 5 growers, all close peeps. i guess u could say im in the hole with the cut, cuz i spent bout 40 bucks on gas to go get it.. lookin forwad to the flowers tho. Itd probly be different if i was the one that bred it n found it, probly keep it tight for a couple years to eat, then start passin it out.

Recently had a REAL special lady in my room - but was told not to breed, share, post, etc. MAN - I really WANTED to do nasty things to that plant - but I honored my word. The last thing I would want is to be cut out of a circle - because surely there will be a next thing to come along - and I'll want that too... lol.
(I was actually THANKFUL broad mites took this particular lady from me - it ended the temptation!)
While I don't think anyone "owns" this plant or any plant - I certainly think there is a moral code and I think we should as a community grow with honor and respect for the plans / work / time folks have put into their seed lines.
Personally - I can't thank $m enough for the knowledge and truth he has shared with me over the years...

I paid a pretty penny for my cuts and have no regrets as it wouldn't have been possible other wise. The people that made it possible know who they are and they also know that they are always welcome to what ever I'm running/ seeds crossed. Sharing is the fun part, especially if your able to see pictures of someone's else growing the beans out. I make an effort to share seeds with those around me when I'm gifted seed crosses, just seems right to share the same opportunities I've been fortunate to have with others that may not ever get that opportunity otherwise.
My icmag cuts all resembled the ogbk pheno but Alass, the largest one is starting to grow normal like the OG growing icmag cut. I still am leaning towards them being one and the same, otherwise I wonder if the icmag cut is an s1 of ogbk, if his is the original...who knows, I sure don't.
