Went ahead and plucked the weakest one when I came home tonight. Dumped the entire pot and checked the soil on the bottom. I could not see anything move at all. Had the Mrs. come in and take a look and we did see one tiny black speck move briefly. Tried a bunch more after that to see if we could see any other activity, but did not. This clone was very weak in my opinion when I brought it home two weeks ago so I am not surprised.

Gonna have to sit down with some meds and catch up on my reading tonight :smoke:

If these are new clones you brought into the room, the RA's may have come in with them. You might get lucky and hit them hard before they get a chance to infest the area.

...Fungus gnats will kill your root zone, not simply just hinder growth it will stop growth in it's tracks if you got enough larvae in the root zone.

yeah, fungus gnats will do the exact kind of damage that RA's will. The larvae are straight up mother fuckers.

If your plants are still in veg, just go with the Bayer. The Imid is systemic throughout the plant tissue and will kill both RA's and fungus gnat larvae. Get the "Fruit, Citrus, and Vegetable" version as opposed to the "Tree and Shrub"; it has a lower percentage of Imid and won't stay in your plants for a crazy long time.

killed a couple yesterday only to come back and find quite a few more today. We're in our 3rd week of Veg, hydro in coco, flood & drain system. What's my best course to take with these???

If you drew a picture on paper or in paint program of the shape and basic leg/wing structure it would be fairly easy for us to identify. If you have a x30-100 scope for checking out your trichomes put that bugger under it and then look on google for plant bugs and match it up.

About a month ago, I went to the nursery to find a organic solution to kill grubs that was in my raised bed gardens (outdoor of course). They had nematodes for ra/gnat/grubs etc.. I used in my raised bed as directed and the grubs never got the chance to morph into the beetles. If your growing organically, I would give nematodes a try.

dont just spray, kill the mothers fucker's children aka larva. I love Gnatrol

http://www.groworganic.com/spc-pid-all-cust-gnatrol-wdg-16-lb.html

Gnatrol WDG 16 lb

Gnatrol is a highly selective, biological larvicide for use in greenhouses to control fungus gnat larvae. It may be used on a wide variety of ornamentals, as well as all bulb crops, bedding plants and vegetable sets. Once the larvae have ingested Gnatrol, they become paralyzed, stop feeding immediately and die—usually within 24 hours. Gnatrol is now available in a water dispersible granule (WDG) formulation that will not leave a residue and is easier to measure for increased application accuracy.

For Ornamental and nursery plantings in greenhouses or potting soil mixtures and for Vegetable plants such as Tomatoes, leafy and cole crops, cucumbers,
peppers and eggplants. Suggested rates are: for light infestation: 3.2 to 6.4 oz/100 gallons applied as a soil drench. For heavy infestation: 13 to 26 oz/100 gallons applied as a soil drench
For best results, apply drenches toward the end of irrigation period. GnatrolWDG is a larvicide and will not control adult gnats, therefore, applications must be timed for a stage of development when larvae are present in the soil. Fungus gnat larvae generally respond to GnatrolWDG treatment within 24 hours following application.

My vote is Ra's.. but who cares, treat them all. spray fer mites, amid for ra's and mites, crumble up some dunks on surface or coco for gnats and larve.... done, for the price of 58 bucks a 4x4 table can be treated for months!!
