Tent problem Please Help

Here is the situation i am growing in a 4'x4' tent and have a can33 filter with a 8" fan connected to it and i got the dreaded call that my tent was collapsed...

rushed home only to find that the plastic brackets on the top tent gave way and sent scrubber fan and light crashing down onto my plants....

question is has anyone run into this problem before?

i have fixed the problem temporary but have been looking for metal or steel replacement parts but cannot find 1/2" fittings....

here is some pics to show you what im talking about...

what you have to do is measure the inside diameter of one end and the outside diameter of the other end, depending on which end of the thing is broken... i assume each of the four main support rods is a two piece assembly?

if it is indeed a two piece assembly you should be able to figure a way to find something you can make work... check the plumbing department and the electrical department of Lowes and Home Depot, and check the electrical department first, the pipe used in electrical work is much lighter so if you can match the diameters, that's the way to go, at worst maybe you find a pipe whose outside diameter fits the inside diameter of the plastic corner joints, then it's just a matter of cutting it to length.

After you get it fixed you might want to look into replacing that 8" fan with something smaller. Iv'e used 1 4" fan to filter 2 5x5 tents for a week or so in an emergency, the 8 inch is definitely overkill.

Buy better gear next time! You might be able to straighten the brackets and drill a small hole thru the bracket and pole, use a small bolt (8-32 or 10-28 bolt size) to hold everything together. Another suggestion might be to open the passive vents on the tent if it has em and let the tent "breathe" some what. Last but not least every growers secret weapon - badass Duct tape! What type of tent is this just for reference?

Good luck, Peace

place the filter on the floor outside the tent, fan on top of it blowing into the filter, duct from fan to hole in tent sucking out hot stinky air and pushing it thru filter. no more stress on tent and you have more room to grow. slow down the 8" fan you probably dont need that much airflow to keep your temps inline...

Now thats what i was looking for!!!!! :woohoo:

is it okay to blow thru those filters and also i have the fan on speed control lol dont want everyone thinking its full throttle haha

only thing i gotta worry about doing it this way is getting rid of the exhausted air out of the room... hmmmmm

the way i have it now is filter>fan>duct>Hood>duct out the tent to window....
