hello guys, i live in Málaga (southern spain) so if you want to know something about it just have to ask me.
i just want to add to everything you all have said that growing in spain is ilegal but if you do it taking care about odor and not making people suspect about your grow. I recomend not to tell anybody about your grow because i have had many issues with "unknowns" breaking in houses and clearing the whole grow :[

Now the government is planning a new punishment/penalty if they catch you smoking in public places, it will be minimum 3K €. if you go out with some weed try to hide it as much as you can.

As many people have said there are lots of friendly people but there are bad boys too (at least here in the south) who will approach at you as theyre your friends but all they want to do is your wallet, and if they see you smoking weed or hash they will be even more motherfckrs and will try to get all your weed.

if you dont know a shit of spanish try to learn at least "Hola; muchas gracias; adios", and people will be helpful. it doesnt matter if you dont speak nothing, people just want to see that you tried to do your best.

un abrazo amigos.

Thanks for those tips, Fakeonare.

What about getting an apartment a bit away from the city centre? Like a little finca on the country side with few or no neighbours?

You need to really understand where you are moving, all the areas are different.

Plenty of Guiri here, but in different locations for different reasons.

Barcelona has a large International crowd living in and around the city, commuting to work there. Villas in the valleys above are nice, lots of patios have plants, bigger places with more air con have large electric supplies... Burglars also like these areas, large deposits frequently asked for, like 6 months rent in advance.

In the Campo, further from the city you do get a lot of foreigners buying up fincas, it does not stand out, unless you are under say 30....

On the coast, further south, Alicante/Costa Blanca, and Malaga/Costa Del Sol you have large areas from the coast inland filled with villa developments, all ex pats, loads of scumbags, robbers, but invisibility in a cultural sense. Here you really can get away with not speaking a word of Spanish. This makes things easy for some, but it has attracted a plague of retards.

Secrets are, not standing out, not upsetting people, not letting anybody know you grow in any way seriously, and finally, not selling it... Growing on Private Property is a minor offence, trafficking is a very serious one.

Sadly, trust nobody

Chaos & Fakeonaire, great posts. What can you guys recommend if an outsider wanted to live in Spain and breed cannabis seeds? Which areas would be best?

In some ways it does not matter, you are doing something in your own place, no sales, zero chance of a visit, it is more about where you are happy and enjoy the life there, burglars not police are the real danger.

Why not spend a week here, visit the different areas, it really depends on what you want from life. The locals are very different in all the different parts, as I said, depending on where you are, you are either invisible, or stick out like a sore thumb...
