The last quote above is from a different thread on this topic, but I want to ask you guys since we all see it. We all know her answer is bullshit. We all know that nearly anything any politician says to us in public is bullshit. So why do we accept it?

Why do we allow people to give a non-answer without just outright calling them on it?

who is this "we" that you're talking about though?

as in "we" the people?

or as in "we" the politicians supposed to represent the people?

is there a way for citizens to start some kind of impeachment process against the head of the dea for lying under oath?

if so, would you take the burden of going after her through this process?

I am trying to start a discussion about exactly how we (the humans) are wolling to accept someone avoiding the truth or outright lying to us (especially when it comes to government). I'm trying to get others input on the subject, because nearly all politicians (of any party) behave this way.

Fear of being tazed bro. Okay that's a little tongue in cheek but it's kind of true. Maybe not fear of being tazed as much as fear of being the only one and then being treated as some sort of troublemaker. I know I've seen it happen at townhall like events both live and on tv. One or two object to something a politician says and they get escorted out. More common though is at such events "normal average people" aren't given a chance to speak but rather people that have been pre selected to ask things the speaker wants them to ask are the ones handed the microphone.

Frasier Crane vs American Politics

i hope it changes soon.

here are some vid's,they can give you a idea on where things went wrong, with some real parralells to todays politics.

explaining the apathy,is a tough question to answer.convincing people its of their own self intrest to do so isnt easy, espeacially with so much misinformation and feelings getting in the way. we should try though ,otherwise its going to be all down hill from here.
i hope the vids/links are useful,or atleast shed some light on the subject.
