Too Old For This Guerrilla Gig...Praying/Dancin' For Rain.

I just got back from dragging water for the last 8 hours. Words can't describe the terrain I drug 10 gallon jugs...Jungles of S. America come to mind. I've not even started looking for ticks and found 8 of them in the shower. If only I could trust/hire someone to do this water.

We're having a major drought, along with 94+ temperatures and I put entirely too many plants to be dragging water every 2-3 days.

Lol, nevermind me. I just can't believe it's this hard and had to rant a minute....

I wouldn't carry water for so long if you paid me hehe. If you don't have your plants in pots, than they really don't need to be watered every 2 days. If you have the option to visit the spot every day, than just check them and don't give them water till they really need it. You will be surprised for how long they don't need any watering. The rest vegetation survives also, so why wouldn't your plants. If you haven't mulched your plants, than do it. On the other side if your plants are in pots, well.. happy carrying.

Ordinarily, I'd agree with you but even native plants are dying this year. I dumped polymer crystals but most haven't established themselves and need water every couple days. I've already lost over a dozen.

My only savior was I found a well out in the area. Otherwise I'd probably have a total loss. I'd like to have a couple drums filled and doing drip irrigation but see no way possible to get them in.
There's a slight chance of showers overnight, the first in about a month.

This is kind of hilly but nothing remotely close to actual mountains. The heavy brush, thorn bushes, spiders, ticks etc, etc are becoming gruesome. Today made up for it, I was dragging my jugs through the woods and happened upon a HUGE Buck. I needed a break so sat there and watched him. He looked at me and went back to grazing. I tried to close in on him, try to see how ''tame'' he was and he bolted. If only I could manuever through the woods like he did, lol!

I've really been toying with the idea of a pump and line. I can't see any way I could reach most of my plots. The ones that are reachable are in nightmarish terrain that could never be dug, short of a trencher and that's not an option. I'm thinking of going out this Winter and rigging something up after the brush has died off.

I feel for you bro. I had to carry water once, and it was only about two hundred meters from the plants, and it was a nightmare. i had to give my head a shake reading the kind of heat you have to deal with. Here it's been chillier than anything I can remember (for June), To the point where everything is behind, and so considerably. I'd pay to have it a few degree warmer! Good luck with getting some rain!
