hello i am a grower that has done years of research about the plant before even popping a seed. and when i stumbled across organics i was a lot more content with it than the synthetic method. so here i am getting ready for 5-10 more outside girls that are to go in 3 gallon pots. pro mix is a good price so i was going to use it as the base. i dont want to buy anything i can get away with substituting something i already have.
i have: sun leaves house of guano kit, worm castings, |Grow More- liquid seaweed, botanicare organic bloom, liquid karma and molasses

i was thinking about using mostly the guano but didnt think it would cut it by itself. keep in mind foilar feeding is going to be a layer of neem oil first.

thanks!

That supply looks pretty good. If you don't want to buy anything you can try foraging around your area for beneficial plants like nettles, yarrow, alfalfa, comfrey, etc, and make FPE's. You could also try companion planting.

Good luck

Here's a recipe posted by a friend on another forum a few years ago. I've used version 2 and imo it rocks. The "me" isn't me, it's the author. All quotes from here on.

Super Soil Mix

Original Recipe, as it was given to me.

1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix
2 L Bone Meal - phosphorus source
1 L Blood Meal - nitrogen source
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source
3-4 cups dolmite lime -calcium source & pH buffering
1 tsp fritted trace elements
1/2 - 1 bag chicken manure (steer, mushroom, etc) - nitrogen & trace
elements

- Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.

Revised Recipe, after several failures due to bad manure sources, I now use the following recipe. Results have been excellent and the clones seem to take off right away instead of having a slow growing settling in period.

1 Bale sunshine mix #2 or promix (3.8 cu ft)
8 cups Bone Meal - phosphorus source
4 cups Blood Meal - nitrogen source
1 1/3 cups Epsom salts - magnesium source
3-4 cups dolomite lime -calcium source & pH buffering
1 tsp fritted trace elements
4 cups kelp meal.
9kg (25 lbs) bag pure worm castings

- Mix thoroughly, moisten, and let sit 1-2 weeks before use.

hey wonderful, I've been working with pro mix manny a year. from my experieance be careful adding n amendments to your base(like gaunos) they have a funny way of reacting if you go overboard with them and give off an ammounia smell for a few hours or days not good to counter this and somr rock phospate it helps or insted a good compost this will bring your ph down around 5 or 6 and give that extra n which is good. hope this helps you peace

FPE's are Fermented Plant Extracts. You essentially submerge plants (best to ferment each different plant on it's own rather than all together) that are known to be beneficial in some water to allow fermentation to take place. This will break it down and you'll be left with all the essential oils, enzymes, hormones, etc. that can help your plants in different stages of growth. Don't worry so much about N-P-K values with these. Here is the sticky link https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=94673

Companion planting is growing multiple species together because they basically get along and can help each other. Kind of like the whole growing basil near tomatoes idea. With companion planting, different species bring different things, some are used to deter pests, others to help the growth of the plants. Basically, roots intermingle and create a happy environment that allows for the exchange of hormones and enzymes. Heres some links for companion planting.

Mix the promix with the wormcastings , and then add some botanicare organic bloom, which is a multi-source of different organic ammendments.

For feedings you can use the Liquid Karma, Liquid Seaweed, and topdress guanos and make teas with wormcastings/molasses.

You should be able to grow some pretty good stuff with that!

Good luck!
