A World On A String

Things are good man. I'll delve off into this information this evening. I'm off to tend gardens...then off to my other life for a while....then back to tend gardens...lol...mid June is a little busy.

Coffee break over (I gave up coffee for a month...but relapsed. Also relapsed on my no dairy diet...I allow myself ice cream now)....haven't had time to run for the last week...but it's doing my body good to rest off the trails....and the damn flies.

Ok...back at it

O...those are the F2. I used a semi mutant female (she was mutant on only one branch) and another Flo dominant to make the F2.

From here: flower structure looks more DD(ish) and those leaves look more like Flo. Could be interesting smoke.

* Strangely....the TFlux didn't show much...if any...Blue line coloring. When mixed with the Highland Mex x BB (TFlux Highland)...however...the colors came back. I don't know why that would be.

I'm happy that others can appreciate the genetics. I..myself...have had a lot of help along the way. Yes...much help. Original Flo and the 1st batch release of Chem DD are epic lines imo. Not sure you will find them easily any longer.

Yessir, only had half as many F1s,and this being a trial run if sorts, I wanted to keep those for now. Yeah,I'm glad you agree on the flowers, they look pretty much like CDD's I've seen over at rez's.

I will be IX'ing the F2s. Bx'ing to the F1 too...I think. Dunno,really...I want to get closer to Flo for further use. I'm gonna change my mind about this many times,I suspect.

*Side note: Those F1 beans are fuckkin HUGE. Thats from a flo? She must have been quite a lady. Never seen calyxes like that on any of the five Flo phenos I've grown*

They are my favorite smoke out of this batch at this point. So KIND. Just smoked a bone with the GF,and its perfect for just snuggling up and chilling. Nice mood equalizer, that doesn't make me scatterbrained and tweaky or stoned out lazy.

You're egging me on,talking about those guerreroberry crosses. Can't wait to get started on one of them. They are next up for sprouting, for sure.
You handed me such a mixed bag of beans that its hard to decide where to start to be honest. I'm slowly realizing how long I'm gonna be sifting through these lines and their offspring....Thanks for that, bro. Keep doing what your doing.

My Flo (DP Original) was a purple mutated resin machine...her beans were near always dark and fat....no matter what she was bred to. One of the most unique plants I've ever had. Electric.

Somebody else is also currently working with these Flo related genetics. Pretty sure. Anyway...it's cool stuff...I hope someone hooks into that sort of Flo expression...for sure she's in there

* The Flo Highland or the TFlux Highland...those are some choice beans. I think the only thing I have anymore is Flo Highland X TFlux Highland. That's everything I need from that section of the Highland pool.

The Fuck Show: Tale of 3 Sisters

The Fuck Show: Tale of 3 Sisters

On schedule to plop the sisters into their outdoor kiva/pit home...transplanted them into the 7gal smart pots...yesterday evening.

They've been hanging outdoors for a while now...but it has only been in the last couple nights...that they were left out overnight. I had killing frost on the 10th....and this morning is under 40. The plants are hardened off to full spectrums..they've been in the heat and the cold..the natural and the unnatural.

Kiva/Pit growing...it's like mining....as I have picked and shoveled even further into the earth (further than last season). Truly...walls collapse inward....and must now be fortified with ply wood...or pallets.. Walls must also be covered with tarps to keep the dust and runoff neutralized. I mean...you can get crazy on this shit....or you can let it go...dealing with it as the season progresses. OD growing is a different sort of chaos

*The plant at the far right is the #1 selection....the squat indica expression. The #2 and #3 are much more stretchy...they've been topped many many Xs now...just to keep their sizes closer to that of the #1....and to promote a vast canopy.

** I don't need huge plants....if I can harvest 1/2 a pound per plant...that would be cool. If it's less..that's ok. I'm in the pit for fun and sport

*** I'd imagine...that we'll get a good look at what The Fuck Show has to offer. I predict nothing else.

Hell Hound selection #3 at day 69

Hell Hound selection #3 at day 69

Coming down the mountain. She was flooded this morning for her last time...ran 2 gal of RO water through her coco medium..

She has slowed down so much...it will take her 3 days to completely dry herself out...then she will be..cut.

* Note the Odessa influence in the flowers...but also note...how they are tightened up....denser...and more constricted.

Some of the training work that was used to keep her under the lights...she was an aggressive stretcher..started training her as soon as the cage was installed (1st day of flower) in anticipation of such a situation...in the end....it nullified her stretch...and she was easily controlled.

** No signs of any intersex or any other problems. Very well mannered...productive...attractive...fragrant...flower. Simple to the point.

it has been interesting to see the various combos of the parental lines coming through in this group of plants, got a couple grom x gk of retardo's going, one just screams grape krush to me...and my seedlings from my cross are almost big enough to start showing some parental traits, wont be clear who is who until the buds start stacking, but i can see some glimmers...

i have really been enjoying the experimenting with plant/container sizes and styles of plant management my new space affords,i have a two plant scrog with 7 gallon smarties in flower, have an espalier plant going in an earth box style planter, have a mini dwc going with veganic nutes....its not all endless clone farming at any rate!

A teaser Garlic harvest

A teaser Garlic harvest

...dropping in for my lunch break.

Thought I'd show y'all some other plants I grow. I pulled these Garlic bulbs this morning...a smaller yielding strain...but with totally out of control flavor. I can't remember the name of the strain though...but bought the bulbs out of Peoples cooperative in OB last fall (planted in November) Designer-like Garlic...for those who want the true goodness

You may not be aware...but I grow all kinds of stuff....around the year...full time....full circle. It's much more simple....and much more complicated than you think.

* Outdoors I concentrate on a mostly vegan compost....all made in pits/piles/what have you....constantly composting...all the time. I dig up pits as I need them....move piles as I need them...like ant orchestration. I have improved my soil quality immensely...over a span of less than a decade.

been reading a great book,"secrets of the soil"....some pretty trippy stuff with all the stiener preps and teluric forces imparted into compost...gonna start top dressing some compost into the plants i have going as well as regular use of compost teas, been seeing great results with that and the veganics, makes for easy gardening at any rate....and the houseplants just love those pricey nutes!

To me...composting is an essential gear in life. I watch the life in my soil...I can smell the cosmic fuel in a prime batch.

Much of my compost is made up of rotten Oak logs...and oak saw chips. I've not found much more that I need...than a bunch of rotting logs. My entire landscape is comprised of local rocks...and Oak logs that are in various stages of decomposition.

1st they hold up the hill...then they become the hill. I build hills with the logs as the foundations....eventually it all turns into black gold...and I replace the logs...change the designs...as it progresses...the whole time...I'm growing in it. My gardens never look the same...they change constantly...even (especially) during the summer season

Beat the Deadline

Beat the Deadline

Today is officially the 1st day of the Pit Season. I gave myself to the 15th to get the pit uncovered...and refortified for the season...came in..ahead of schedule

Nuthin' Fancy...that's correct. Very simple...dig a hole and keep the peace. It is totally self confined..dug down and into decomposing granite...under the radar...protected from the strong winds...achieves great sun...and is absolutely dangerous to stumble into.

This is my 3rd season in the pit...documented right here in this thread. It's a productive hole...more about playing the game of "hiding in plain sight"....the complications of breastworks cultivation and a very serious micro climate....it's been sporting in the past...I expect nothing less this season.

* The sisters were all heavily supercropped after being placed in the pit. All were topped multiple Xs (over the last month)...to achieve more branching...and to make more bud sites. I still do not want tall plants...and I have not decided how I'm going to train them.

** Plants need to be kept mobile...for whatever reason...guests, weather...what have you. I'd have lost my crop last year...in the hail storm...if it had not been mobile.

*** Fun stuff...takes some nerve and some dedication to sail it right. When it gets wafty...you just shake your head...and sigh..mind the p's and q's...situational awareness...go for it...never drama free

**** Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance....damn right...learn it....live it

Love the Pit...great idea! Someday I'll get back outside in that glorious Sun...the way it should be.

For sure...can see that the pots will tip. Thinking about using those 50some inch tomato cages...but will have to modify some stuff..the top heavy issue...and that the prongs will probably poke thru the fabric.

I'm taking it day by day...never used Smarties...never grew Fuck Show...swinging away....down in a hole...solving issues as they present themselves. I plan...but some of my better ideas come to me on the fly.

Funny...after digging out the pit...putting the fences and such up...I started feeling the pit groove. The path I must climb up and down every day to tend that garden...it all came back to me...muscle memory.

* I'll attempt to train the plants...via constant bending...to a point where they bush out and down. If I can get away without cages...I'm all for it.

** work work work....I'm all over the place.

Awesome. Yes...Garlic. I have a couple strains going...in 3 longish rows. I picked those I showed...because I needed them....and they were in the way of the next progression for that corner of the garden. I'm looking at a lot of Garlic rolling in...later this season.

Off to a great start...the veggie/fruit gardens are about to go full throttle. It's some very serious dedication. Perpetual motion...me...it....all

Manicure of Hell Hound selection #3

Manicure of Hell Hound selection #3

Out of the 9 sisters...this expression is not one of the more attractive or eye drawing. She is an average girl....not super stunning...but nothing to complain about either.

She made plenty of flowers...those flowers are very stanky...very sticky...........probably be...some fine smoke

you're about shut down in the studio now right? i swear im gonna shut down next summer, maybe rent a little cabin in the mountains (if all the forest dont burn down this summer that is...)

pretty psyched about my first cross i have going, they are starting to take off now...so many different ways your threads have changed my views of gardening...you should see me blithely bending stalks on flowering plants... but my doing some chuckin was for sure inspired by the controlled madness here!

T

THE PABLOS

Shut down...affirm. I only have 7 plants left in flower...4 of which are flushing. As soon as I harvest them...I'm done for a couple months. I'm looking forward to not having to deal with the indoor gardens this summer. I need a break. Should be done in a couple/few weeks.

yeah...you guys are burning over that way. We have a fire going as well...not big...but at least a few hundred acres. Our season hits hardest in fall. That's when we get the east winds and the chaos.

It's always a pleasure to hear....when this thread inspires others to take the plunge. I'm so far gone now...I don't really remember it all...but I will say...it's a hell of a ride.
