So How do I resize my pics?

Skip says I need to resize them before I upload to get around the error trouble Krunch and others have posted about. I was just letting IC do it automatically before.
I don't know how to resize them on my hard drive. I'm not really very tech savvy...
Anyone?
Thanks

Good question I've been wondering the same thing...also how do you take the time stamp and id to where pics came from off of the pics as well?

This program is free and one off the easiest to use when it comes to re size and striping the META information of your pics , re sized pics are quicker to upload and hell my uploads get counted in my overall internet usage so why pay to upload a 4mb pic when you can re size it and bring it down to less than 200kb...hmm thats all

A little how to
open pic with irfanveiw
select Image (pulldown menu)
resize/resample ....enter
select the size you want..1024 x 768 works for me
press OK
select file (pulldown menu)
select save as or save in original folder and follow prompts
EASY

Or you can let the site resize them and by doing that it strips them of information automatically.

Apparently, we are not supposed to? I dont get what we are supposed to do now. You say let the site do it, SKIP says your slowing the site down for everyone else, by NOT resizing it yourself...

Personally Krunch, I resize mine. I have never worried about stripping them. I resize them and upload. I size mine at 800 x 600.

Lightroom and aperture work well for this. The basic photo viewer in osx (PC too I think) works just as well too.view, go to tools, image size, then reduce by whatever percentage is needed to get you down to site specs. You can batch process with preview as well.

Irfanview is very good, and now GIMP is available for all PC formats, much more powerful program/tool.

Also, another tip, use the resampling feature, as it can really reduce the 'package' size (kilobytes/megabytes) of the pic in question. IIRC it's a percent you can select, and you can do the same thing in GIMP, but it's not called resampling.
