My new coco-hempy W.o.W thread, ...a work in progress.

high folks, it's been quite a while since i authored a thread around here as i like to spend most of my time either studying advanced techniques or in helping out the noobs, ...it wasn't all that long ago that it was me needing help and many of you freely offered your help so paying it forward is important to me, ...and maintaining a thread is a real PITA, especially for an old stoner like me.

anyway, about 9 months ago i made several changes to my op and went from a micro-grower up to a small-time operator with the purchase of a Secret Jardin DR120 and a 600HPS to power it and all was going wonderfully, i was finally growing enough to have some excess!

...and then the other shoe dropped and i found out the 3 family house i lived in had been foreclosed on and i would be forced to vacate.

so now it's like 3 months later and i'm in a new crib which is WAY nicer than the place i was forced to vacate AND it came with a nice big closet, ...just a hair larger than the DR120 so i'm psyched for the future.

...i would also like to mention that i have been lurking in the vertical grows for some time now and have learned much from many of you that has proven invaluable in my efforts to get this new space up and running and so a BIG thanks to you all!

with that said i want to thank Marlo directly as i will be using his very innovative and simple W.o.W tech in this new space and i expect it will improve my op and lessen my workload greatly, so thanks Marlo and i hope you are well, i've noticed your absence lately and i pray it's just mundane bullshit keeping you away from us and not something less benign.

anyway, lol, in addition to using Marlo's W.o.W tech i will be growing coco-hempy's and feeding K.I.S.S. style so much different than my organic soil cab grows in DIY smartpots, lol.

and now for a few pics.

first up, a shot of the new 'pots' and 'saucers' i picked up at the dollar store the other day, just cheap 6liter trash cans and some cheap plastic locker 'baskets' as saucers.

and a shot of the back of the closet and a roll of Reflectix and a roll of plastic yard fencing.

my plan is to build an elevated floor so that fresh, cool air will be pulled in from below and in front and be sucked up and into the grow through the back so here you will see the 4 'feet' i built to hold up the grow and my old stoner ass, lol.

this 5 pictures per post limitation is a real pain.

so here are some more pics of the floor as it takes shape, including shots of the underneath to show where the air will flow.

this shot shows the left 'foot' with a board attached to provide a lip around the entire floor to help contain inevitable spills.

and a shot showing all 4 feet laid roughly in place.

and a shot showing half the floor laid in for final positioning.

and here is a shot showing the front of that 'lip' in place and a 2liter Coke bottle for perspective.

and a shot looking underneath that shows how much space there is for air to flow.

this shot shows the basic layout i'm planning, ...this is just a 'dry fit' to see how things looked.

thanks man although i'm just a hack with a hammer, lol, ...or maybe just an old stoner with an abiding need.

as to the genetics, ...the KC x SW stands for KaliChakra x Sterling Widow and the beans were gifted to me by a friend i haven't seen for some time named Cellardweller as he was known here back then, ...he gave them to me almost 4 years ago and i've been growing this female ever since, lol.

...if i'm not mistaken the original mom, KaliChakra, was from a pack of seeds from Mandala, ...the Sterling Widow i'm not sure, i've been told the 'Sterling' is from some SSH genes in that part of the cross but i can't swear to it, ...all i know is it tastes really nice.

you'll note that she was flowered in a 2liter Coke-bottle hempy.

well, i guess i should post up some more of the build as it is nearly complete except the finishing touch's to make it more or less light proof, i'm fortunate that i can keep the room the growcloset is in private so SOME leakage isn't a problem.

...anyway, in an effort to make the new floor water tight i bought a gallon of elastomeric, rubberized paint and using that in conjunction with some common landscapers fabric for strength i set to work.

what i like to do is to cut the fabric to fit first and then i lay a coat of the elastomeric paint down and, using a plastic spatula, i work the fabric down into the paint, i want to make sure when this first coat dries it holds the fabric down nice and tight, ...my budbox is almost 4 years old and it's still water tight, lol.

...i didn't take any pictures of the finished floor but i added two more coats so it just looks like a white floor, lol.

What exact nutrients are you using? I am going to be switching to Coco hempy next run and was thinking of running H3ad's formula:

the next step was to define the new 'face' which would hold the new entry into the grow, ...as you can see, not much room left for my cloths, lol.

...here's the new scrubber to go with the new fan and i don't like it, the quality of construction isn't near as good as my old CanFan 2600, ...for one thing the top is riveted and not screwed on so refilling it would be a major pain in the ass, ...AND the riveting is very sloppy to boot! ...no more Phresh filters for me!

...here's a little more of what i'm doing at the moment, lol.

these next are 4 El Nino x KaliMist and i bought these a few years ago at T H C Farmer in a charity auction to help out JoeSchmoe and his family after he got popped, ...i sure hope they are all well.

these babies showed lateral growth very early, i'm psyched to see how they do in the W.o.W setup.

definately looks indica dominent to me, lol.
