I’ve never used Bio-Ag’s Full Power. I’ve gone through many additives over the years to arrive at the short list I use today. For me to test additives takes considerable planning because of the low concentrations that aero uses. I’ve seen additives kill or maim more grows than just about anything. I don’t expect to do more than one of these experiments this year. Thanx for the heads up on those other products - I’ll take a look a them.

Here’s the plants at 12 days:
I have been shoot pruning and pinching - keeping only the top growth tips. Page 4 has more info.
And 9 days later:
You can see that the buds are all in the top third of the plant. Over the next 7-10 days, cola formation should be set, and by then we should have a 5’ by 5’ by 2.5’ cube of buds. There are no bottom buds to defoliate for. The bottom 2 foot of the plant has no buds - so we can foliar spray these leaves as long as they live without getting large buds wet. This layer scavenges whatever light the top buds don’t use as well as being a nute sink to the main buds.
I will be removing large fans from the colas after they have set - there will simply be no room for them. Leaving them in will shade and damage adjacent colas. So in about 10 days I’ll start taking all the leaves that poke or shade out of the bud layer.
So to answer your question I’d say I do both - defoliation and foliar sprays. I hope this helps.

AK if possible can you lay out your clone veg and flower schedule?
Damn it looks like you could lay a board up there and lay down on it and you would just be hoisted up in the air by the extreme growth. Looks really nice 
I will suck my own dick if you hit 5 pounds off 1 light.

Question - I know you're using a mover, but why wouldn't you throw up some reflective materials around the grow? Those outside buds are gonna be lagging the interior even more than usual, no?

Aerokrafter: You, Sir, are a grower of the highest caliber. Seriously, it's guys like you who make this place look good. A million thanks for sharing with the community here. The information you've shared is priceless, and will no doubt provide insight and guidance for many.
I'm actually considering adopting your nute program in an upcoming project. A question if I may: do you think your nute bloom blend(dm a&b, Fl+, kb,zone,silica) will lend itself favorably to other grow methods? Say, DWC or coco hempy buckets(for my particular situation)?

I think a vert grow would have the best shot at breaking 5lb. It’s just more efficient to light up a bowl than a flat plane.
So all you verters out there - consider setting up a 1K pod and show us how its done!
As far as schedule - I do my vegging in the cloner. At one point I would veg in the net pots using my DIY veggers - but I found just using the cloner to be more efficient with considerable less work.

Freshly topped clones vegging in a cloner:
Clippings to rooted clones to topped and pruned and ready to plant takes 35- 45 days. I plan on flowering these for 70 days. More info on all cloner tech can be found in the first few pages of the Tips n Trix thread below.

Had to clean my screen! Part of the fun of the thread is the speculation. I’ll do my best to keep the doubters doubting their doubt. After all, the goal of the thread is not necessarily just 5lb, but questioning what it would take to achieve it and getting folks to think about how they could improve their own grows. I have used mylar in the past. The problem is that I use a lot of sprays and have a lot of air movement - it looses reflectivity very quickly and is difficult to clean without damaging. I found white paint to be much more durable while maintaining a very high reflectivity. The surface reflectivity numbers are very close in all the data I looked at.
I have looked at HP aero and done a few experiments. Had spray head issues and decided to concentrate back on flos. Never really saw enough difference to warrant the extra work.

However I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t work for you - Tho you will need a much higher concentration. I would guess at least 2x. Just start at about 80% of the EC of what you use now and let the plants guide you. The main thing you would gain from this mix in buckets, is pH stability - leading to less lock out and healthier plants.

Great thread AK Your canopy is thick and lush. Good luck with it all, been following along the whole thread but had to chime in and compliment you on your growing skills. Peace
Day 23 Bloom Update
According to my notes from the test run, today should be the last day of elongation stretch. Most all of the verticle growth from this point forward will be bud growth. After analyzing the current grow, I will have to do a 2 row criss cross of the tops - otherwise I risk inhibiting bud growth with light burn.

You can see the route through the triple trellis:
The plants look pissed - but they will get over it within a day. I will also start the bottom layer folair spray tomorrow.
Here's what I get for doing this:
- About 6" of extra head space
- All colas will be secured at their base with minimal twist - they will be strong.
- The outside edge row tops that were slightly behind are now one row in - this will help keep the canopy even.
- If I waited a week longer when I would be forced into doing this, the stems will be considerably woodier and more difficult to bend.
Potential pitfalls for doing this:
- Side buds will now get more light. This is good and bad. They will be larger and take away space and light from the main buds. However we are after all, going for production. This canopy is going to be overcrowded compared to one without the weave.
- Some plants don't like being handled this aggressively. The test plants had no pruning or trellis training, but I am confident in the vigor of this plant.
- It's about a 3-4 hour job to do this. You have to take your time and plan every growth tips place. A few leaves inevitably get damaged.

Took about an hour to read every page, but AK...you are amazing.....the pinching without bending the stalk is new to me....I will use it in my grow today....I have pulled up a chair.
