Hi All,

I just ran into this thread earlier about Kelloggs Patio Plus Soil-suppost to be as good as FFOF but not as HOT!!!! I'm trying to get some opinions on it because one person said that they had mushrooms growing in the soil with their girls? Oh yea-also suppost to be a fraction of the cost of FFOF -$5.00 for 1.5 cubic ft bag!
All replies appreciated!:thank you:

If it's as good as FFOF, then FFOF ain't that good, IMO. I use Kellogg's, for mulch, not to plant in. I wish I could get it in bulk, though.

Sea-most of the people were claiming that it is as good as FFOF only not as HOT. I can't remember y i came across the site though. It comes in 1.5 cubic ft and 5 dollars a bag. I just happen to see it yesterday at Lowes but didn't pay it no attention! I'm in the middle of flowering 5 wks and think i might take a stab at it with upcoming grow. It can be found at Lowes and Homedepot. The mushroom part has me concerned!!!!!

Mushrooms don't bother me, they'll simply help it decompose more, which is what it needs. That's why I use it as mulch, I find it to be very coarse.

I used it for my outdoor grow last year, one pallet to 6 plants.

I amended the shit out of it (pun intended), and it worked extremely well (in terms of health, vigor, yield, etc).

It does have quite a few gnats, which aren't too big of a deal if you know how to deal with them.

I also used the Patio Plus Potting Soil, to fill 3) 100 gallon smart pots.
It performed good for me, but I also heavily amended it.

...if they are affiliated with the Kellogg's food company then we shouldn't use it no matter how good it may be as that company has already demonstrated that it is anti-mj, ..ie Michael Phelps.

the only vote we have with any power left is the vote we make every time we spend a dollar so i say don't spend ANY dollars with ANY company that demonstrates that they are against us.

...by the same token, we shouldn't vote for any politician just because he say's he supports mj, ...especially if all his other policy's are insane, ie Barrack Obama, who SAID he wasn't anti-weed but has proven the opposite, ...his word ain't worth much.

Different company I think. You're thinking of Kellogg's, the cereal, etc, company. This is Kellogg, soil, compost, etc. I'm pretty sure they were featured on an episode of California's Heartland, or some PBS ag show like that. Maybe I have them featured in one of my ag publications.... crap! Hold on, Google is my friend here, right?

***....

Well... just found a rebate on Kellogg.

Maybe they're not much better. Sheesh! I'm glad I buy my soil in bulk, maybe I'll start doing that with my mulch, too.

yeah, you're right, it is a different company but your links show that they are indeed not much better, ...they show a complete lack of integrity.

used last summer. filled most pots with FFOF but did some CriticalHaze from seed filled 35 gallon geopots with Patio plus , put some Kelloges start fert and Mycos. plants really took off . top dressed when in flower with Kellogs dry bloom fert. I liked the stuff and agree it is not as hot as FFOF. CH has good vigor and doesnt require as much food as other strains. It wrkd 4 me and will def use again. it is 4.99 a bag but have seen it on sale for 3.99 before. I did have about 10 bags out of a pallet that had some white mold or something . experiment for urself do some FFOF and others PP or maybe mix the 2.

I feel like I should be getting commissions from Kellogg. I send them good healthy biosolids free of drugs and preservatives.
I did notice my plants were losing weight and shaking a lot. I caught one stealing copper wire.
They should probably quit using sludge from the "inland empire".
Shame we have to worry about chemicals. Don't we?
Ms. Kellogg Johnson may be doing us all a favor. The stuff has to go somewhere besides down our toilets. Except for mine. I have a magic toilet.
It don't stink either.
If I hadn't used it before, I would be hesitant. As it is, I've used it in the yard my microherd seems happy.
They just don't seem to get upset that easily.
I doubt if I use it on consumables anymore. Never much did anyway.
