c02 - let free stand in room or make halo tubing around plants?

Getting ready to add c02 this week when we flip to 12/12 & wanted to turn on the c02 at the same time.

Should I just turn the tank on & let it freestand in the room (it's a 10x10 room with 14 plants total split in half with 2 halos around 2 vertical bare bulbs)

Or should I form tubing around the plants at the base like a halo around the bunch pin pricked all around so the c02 can escape evenly?

I am leaning towards adding the tubing since I think they will get a direct blast of c02.

What size tubing should I use if I do go that route?

Ideally you want to run the tubing to expel your co2 near a fan. Use this to blow the co2 around the room. If you have 3-4 wall fans this will be fine. If your air is standing, then the co2 will drop to the floor (cold gas drops and co2 is heavier than air). Halo tubing doesn't disperse as evenly and your just gonna have more stuff to trip over. Also what controller are you running? I have a 11x13 space, 20lb tank, my regulator is set to 5-8cfm, and is being controlled by a sentinel chhc-1. I have one tube taped to the AC and we hold ppm's just fine. 20lb tank lasts about 10 days.

Hope this helps

As long as you have LOTS of air moving around it doesn't matter where the co2 is coming from. As landscape pointed out co2 is heavier than air and will sink to the floor if it isn't constantly blown up and around.

Ok so we'll run it behind a fan (yes we have 2 oscillating ones so there's plenty of air flow.)

The room is pretty sealed up, just the vent from the AC unit really. Other than that it's pretty good.

The room is 8x10, what PPM's do I want to be running the c02 at?

Also how long do I want to run the c02 per day & what hours? I think I've read it's most effective when the lights are off?

co2 is not effective during lights out, only use it with lights on

most peep run at 1500ppm but there some debate on running lower levels.
If you want to be precise you need some kind of controller and monitor get ready to drop some $.

Just started using a burner last week. I dropped my ppm's to 1300 and they got happier. But, that might have been due to heat. Also, they don't really like 85. I think they would be happier at 80.

ever seen those lawn sprinkling hoses? full of holes to wet the line. i put one of those - 25' to the co2 tank and then the ceiling to dispurse the gas down on my plants. lights on - 5 min bursts every 2 hours 3 times a week.

p.s. take a square box fan and lay on floor - 2 are better; lift 1 end so the co2 on floor is sucked up and falls again. this way you get an even distribution. circurlar fans dont work well.

i put the tube behind a oscilating fan and let the fan do the work for the room
