Hell yah get that shit cracking in there! Good job using the white poly to maximize your light. What sort of infrastructure are you gonna put up for the buds?

I gotta say i'm a fan of all these flavors too, this should be good.

infrasctrcture?? I got em staked and tied with twist ties.... hopefully that will control em' somewhat... if needed will start tying up to some chicken wire on ceiling.....

im currently in 5 gal. bags , I was wondering would I suffer much yeild loss by switching to 3 gal. bags as my veg. room is gonna be tight with 40 -5 gal.'s in there.
This is my first grow in a while and im anxious, counting them weeks down..lol
got the next round rooted and are in cups right now.... feels good to be back!

Looking rad.. cant wait to see this grow out.

Are you handwatering?

I know I personally would have a heck of a time keeping all of that standing up right and not falling all over the place... but then again I suck at using bamboo, ties, etc to support crops.

When handwatering my biggest challenge was getting back to the room before things started to get light and tippy. I'd have circles tip like dominos ...bamboo stakes and all.

I'll be checkin' back.

peace

So no answer yet on yield difference of a 5 gal compared to a 3 gal.. help me out...

I think it would be better to use smaller growbags and water more frequently since you are using coco and space is an issue..

it also depends how long you are vegging them for. 5 gallons of coco can support a pretty large plant.

Well this first round vegged for about 4 weeks or so.. and I plan on doing the same next round or maybe even bigger because plant #'s are an issue.... I might do some in 3 gal and see how I like em'.. thanks man!

Go 3 Gallon Smart Pots and I doubt you'll see any reduction in yield.

A few here have actually reported an increase in yield despite moving down to a small smart pot from a plastic pot. You cannot get rootbound and they result in a very robust root system because they prevent root circling (like you'd get in a plastic container).

Again though.. moving into a smaller pot while still hand-watering could result in stability issues as the pot dries and loses weight. Its nice to have that 5 gal to keep you anchored to the ground. A 3 gallon pot (more so if smart pot) can get pretty light as it gets dryer...resulting in the plants base not playing any roll in keepin' it standing up right... so just keep that in mind if you go down a size or so.

I think 5 gallon pots are unnecessary in coco (soil-less mixes) unless you're growing trees. Furthermore I've known tree growers who found no gain to going larger pots vs standard 5 gallon buckets when growing 6-7' trees...just a waste of media.

just my opinion / observations over the years.

So I guess there are pros and cons either way.
I do like the idea of having to water less, even if its only 1 more day, and the anchor features of the 5 gal.
Maybe once I get some automation going with the watering (blumats) ill switch up to 3 gal.

So, I know im jumping the gun here but what do you think I might yeild? 16 - 3ft. Plants strains are medium yielders, is a goal of 1# realistic, truthfully I hope I get more but trying to lowball it.. I'm thinking I can get an oz off each.., what do you guys think?

Also when trying to shoot for 1gpw , are you supposed to do adjustments meaning either longer veg time or more plants until you can reach that goal correct?

im not experienced at all with vert but i would say with 16 plants and 2k it should be pretty easy to achieve.

lowballing on the yield is a good thing IMO. that way you never get disappointed....and when ya kill it on the yield makes it just that much better:)

as for the 1gpw IMO it differs from person to person. if were both running say OGK what gets you 1gpw may not work for me because of enviroment conditions.

Blumats are definitly on the list bro., got a bunch things on my list actually.. it just keeps growing.. but as long as I keep growing as well everything should work out... ;)
Came home from work to a smell leak from my veg. Room this morn. Smh.... Guess I underestimated the smell of 2 week old vegging clones... :pimp3:
Got it taken care of though...

Looks nice and clean! Healthy looking ladies as well. Congrats. :D

You may want to re-think the wiring setup of your lamps though. That upper lamp is pumping a lot of infra-red into the cord for the lower lamp. You might notice the ballast for the lower lamp running hotter than the top one, after an hour or so of lights on?

Just need to re-route the lamp cord so it's not getting hit by the/a lamp itself. Once that cord heats up, the resistance goes up, the ballast draws more juice and heats up, and the cycle ramps up. Eventually at least the lamp will fail early... not sure about the ballast components.

I have every confidence you'll be able to route that without creating an electrocution hazard for yourself. :D

Thanks for the compliment,
As for the cord that's just a hanger , the power cord is coming out of the side of the j-box. I have those ajustable hangers but they have a fabric string to hang from and I was kinda skeptical about that maybe catching on fire so I tied an old cut piece of cord to it and thats what my lamps are hanging from, the actual power cords drape off to the side and out...... Thanks for looking out though...
