Hasn't passed the senate yet has it? Agreed, this year is a better bill, more support, just needs to reach the floor before session ends. Last year decrim was like one of the very last bills brought to the floor, I can't even remember if medical got reached in the docket or not. Support is better, so there should be more push to get to it and get something done. This is great, my bro qualifies & I guess I can be caregiver :)

Connecticut NORML Praises House and Senate for Passing Medical Marijuana Bill
HB 5389- An Act Concerning the Palliative Use of Marijuana

HARTFORD: Early this morning, following a debate that began at 4:30 PM yesterday, the Connecticut Senate joined the House of Representatives in passing HB 5389, clearing the way for Governor Dannel Malloy to sign the bill into law. Connecticut will join sixteen (16) other states and the District of Columbia that allow for the compassionate use of medical marijuana with eleven (11) other states currently considering the measure.

:woohoo:

so they're going to allow caregiver status? I thought I read something about a very limited number of production liscences. like 10 or something. and a $25k application fee.

if I could grow legally I'd be moving back east ASAP.

California has great weather but the culture is weird. for example, people don't get sarcasm here, it hurts their feelings.

also a disturbing number of people wear fedoras on a daily basis.

yeah CT i believe is gonna be a little different in how they set up their dispensaries, a licensed pharmacist must be running/managing the dispensaries, this is the tricky part because if the dispensary the pharmacist works at, if it gets raided by the feds they will be stripped of their pharmacy license in every state, so it gonna be hard to find the proper professionals to open them. Each dispensary is gonna be allowed at least 3 and no more than 10 producers, each producer having to pay a $25,000 non refunduable application fee, once paid your gonna be able to "produce" for 5 years, then re apply and pay the application fee every 5 years. Also sounds like CT really wants patients to shop at these state owned dispensaries more than grow their own, this is probably so CT can pocket the most $$$$$ off of it, I didn't read much as far as number and limits of what patients can grow. If it's anything like the old bills it gonna be sorta crazy, the old bill wanted to allow a patient to grow up to no more than 4 plants 4 feet tall, seriously! what a stupid idea, that will really make people just shop at the dispensary IMO.

Otto,

I completely agree, I think allowing people to grow their own for medical reasons is absolutely important - at least to have the real option. Many people's symptoms are resolved from specific strains and the dispensaries may not carry what works best for them. A big part of the medical Marijuana movement is medical self sufficiency - they should definitely help allow for this..

For years it's been, "don't touch that evil shit" and now it's, "we'll sell it to you but you can't grow your own" They don't give a fuck about patients they are just desperate for cash and being greedy looking for a slice of the pie...

Fuck medical marijuana, and fuck you Connecticut.

while i think CT is going in the right direction i also feel this is why the law needs to be proposed/written by the people. too much gov't control when they do it....which is why im glad the people of mass will pass their own law.

headseed looking nice man, you'll be growing some fire in no time keep us updated!

things moving along this way, finally got the CO2 fired up for a couple days just to realize I am gonna need a new AC, the portable one still works but just doesn't crank like she use to, she's still got life let in her so and runs well with no CO2 so I am gonna use it strictly for the 5x5 with the seeds I started once they're ready, so now I been researching AC, I like the portables but I find they work best with tents and that originally why i got the thing 2-3 years ago, I was using all tents, now I got framed rooms and i think a wall/window unit is what I am gonna need to keep things kosher with the CO2.... The wall A/C's seem more expensive than the window, does anyone know if my A/C is just gonna be hanging out room, not from a window, if its really necessary to spend the extra bucks on the wall unit? Their will be plenty of room for ventilation for the part that hangs out the back.

Anyways got these nine blueberries in 3 gals and was thinking shit this plants just loves to grow tops everywhere and I realized I had an extra trelis net around, I am excited to see what comes of these girl under 1k, my goal is 4 z's a plant, we'll see what happens should be fun to grow regardless of weight. They're about 10 days in and I just put the net over the other days and snapped a couple branches to even the canopy out....

R.I. Senate approves bill to modify medical-marijuana law; U.S. Attorney repeats his opposition

Full Article: http://www.boston.com/news/local/rh...i_senate_to_vote_on_medical_pot_dispensaries/

Actual Senate Bill @ http://www.rilin.state.ri.us/BillText/BillText12/SenateText12/S2555A.pdf

Snippets:

The Senate just approved new legislation that could soon result in the opening of three medical-marijuana dispensaries.

The vote was 35 to 3. If the proposal passes the House as well, the dispensaries could be serving patients within several months.

Under the bill, dispensaries would be allowed to possess up to 1,500 ounces of marijuana.

"What's important to us is getting the licensing process back on track so the facilities can open and safely get some relief to suffering people," she said. "Every day these centers aren't open is another day that many sick and dying Rhode Islanders and their families or caregivers are forced to turn to unsafe, illegal means to get their medicine."

Got a knock at the door today....... it was the neighbor with a cold beer for me :) First time in the 2 years I was in the rental that I got an unexpected knock, so it scared the ever living shlt out of me. He must have noticed I was nervous, he came in and was looking around a lot.... even asked me how the hell I was able to afford the place..... I just kept talking loud to cover up the 800 cfm fan running in the background.... Soon as he left I called in a helping hand, took down the ecsd vert, loaded up 95% of my equipment & got the hell out of dodge. Damn it feels good to be a gangster :)

I don't ever answer the door. Brings back bad memories.

If I'm not expecting someone, it's more than likely someone I don't want to see.

Good morning Tri-State-Trich Heads! If it's the popo at the door it doesn't matter if you answer the door or not! You might as well answer, if they're knocking they are going to come in anyhoo. Just be cool, be polite and don't volunteer any information and you'll get through it to grow another day. Getting busted just plain sucks but it'll suck even more if you do something stupid to add to the charges. Don't cooperate either, you got yourself into the mess, don't drag anyone else dsown with you. Sadly there are repercussions to doing what we love, we all know that going in. If you ain't man (or woman) enough to deal with those repercussions personally you shouldn't be growing period. As Barretta once said, don't do the crime if you can't do the time (don't do it!)

Enjoy the day Stoners, another damp one in New England. I think mushrooms are going to grow under my bike cover. At least I know a lil place where the sun always suns (well 12 hours a day). Stay stoned n' happy people......
