Ontario's Best Blueberry Skunk (F1) from Toronto 420 Seed Bank

I'm observing this variety.

Here's the seed bank's description:

"This strain does well Indoors as well as Outdoors. It has a 8 to 9 weeks flowering period.

Blueberry Skunk is a large producer under indoor and outdoor conditions. A dense and stout plant with red, purple and blue hues that usually cure to a lavender blue.

The finished product has a very fruity aroma of the Skunk strain and tastes of Blueberry. It produces a notable and pleasantly euphoric mental lift of the highest quality and is very long lasting.

Bred out of the Skunk family, Blueberry Skunk is an Indica/Sativa mix that produces buds totally frosted with THC.

It is an excellent example of a fine quality cannabis and its ancestors have a reputation unsurpassed in growing. Blueberry Skunk is mainly an indoor variety but will work in the greenhouse or even outdoors. Finishing time is around 7 weeks, so you won't have to wait too long to experience the long-lasting cerebral high it gives. Blueberry Skunk is definitively for the connoisseur.

The finishing time will be within 60 to 70 days of the flowering's first appearance on the plant. Expect harvest in late September to early October in the northern hemisphere and in the southern hemisphere by the end of April. A proven true breed.

Quick Characteristics: Very Good Yielder, Short and Bushy, Good for small closets or Hydroponics Tables. Smoke is skunky, heavy but also hints industrial scent can be detected. For Late (heavy) late night smokers who enjoy social interaction."

Observations so far:

Germination rate: 100%
(all embryos split the testa and plumule emerged)

Germination period: 1 to 9 days
(median period 3 days)

Rate of seed making it from initial germination to seedling stage: 85%
(working with low numbers due to local restrictions, so the 15% failure rate may be over-stated)

Two weeks after sowing: all six seeds germinated and all broke through the surface, however, one did not survive beyond that stage. Here are the remaining five:

I can't provide an ideal environment here, but I am doing the best that I can given the circumstances.

So far as the feeding schedules go, I've been feeding like this for the past few weeks:

Roughly, these are the numbers, although each plant was fed individually with it's own nutrient solution formula and strength as the weeks progressed taking into account the individual plant's maturity and reaction to the nutrient strength. Some of the plants needed a little more time for vegetative growth in order to get to full sexual maturity, so not everyone entered the bloom room at the same time.

(Weeks are designated as the time elapsed from the first sign of germination)

Week 1 no food, just the soil as the source of nutrition, 24 hr photoperiod
Week 2 250 ppm GH FloraNova Grow @ pH 7.0, 24 hr photoperiod
Week 3 250 ppm GH FloraNova Grow @ pH 6.5-7.0, 24 hr photoperiod, transplanted into 2 gallons of coco at the end of the week
Week 4 500 ppm GH FloraNova Grow @ pH 6.0-6.5, 24 hr photoperiod
Week 5 500 ppm GH FloraNova Grow @ pH 6.0-6.5, 24 hr photoperiod
Week 6 660 ppm GH FloraNova Grow @ pH 6.0-6.5, 12 hr photoperiod (preflower, transitioning to bloom photoperiod and nutrients)
Week 7 660 ppm GH FloraNova Bloom @ pH 6.0-6.2, 12 hr photoperiod

Three have shown their sex and are into bloom, one is a little bit behind. One male, two females, and one unknown.

This female is pushing her pistils out, the other one is a little less mature. The male is coming right along and the final plant is still unknown sex-wise, but I think it's a female just barely starting to form her calyxes, but I could be wrong since its too early to tell for sure, they are just ittie-bittie buds.

A close up of the most mature female.

Looking good GROBOT!!!! Make sure you preserve a female!!! Love ya!

Thank you Trich-master for the amazing compliment. I'm hoping everything gets hurried along so that we can get to the Warlock grow as soon as possible. After that, it'll be a Hindu Kush grow.

Grobot out!

The three females have been placed on the left side of the grow area and the male can be seen on the far right bearing pollen already to the eagerly awaiting females' pistils.

I see you re-potted and bloomed what looks like a male. You went from 0-60 in 3 seconds! Nice. Keep a close eye on that male, you can always store pollen. Haaa hahaha.. "...pollen already to the eagerly awaiting females' pistils." So true.

That's right, I'm catching the pollen and the fallen clusters on a piece of paper surrounding the plant's base. Thanks for tuning in! Talk to you soon.

I chopped down the male after it was through flowering and most of the pollen sacks had burst open. This is the grow room situation now, with 3 pollenated females developing their seed.
