Wow...just read this and was like "Really?...dam!" Grew up on the Beasties! I was just checking out a Def Jam coffee table book the other day at the book store and looking thru all the pics remembering the good old days. RIP MCA! Love and support go out to his family, friends, and the rest of the crew! These guys played a huge part in the evolution of hip-hop! Hearing the Beastie Boys will always bring me back! Gotta have that License to Ill!

"Now my name is M.C.A. I've got a license to kill
I think you know what time it is it's time to get ill
Now what do we have here an outlaw and his beer
I run this land, you understand I make myself clear."
We stepped into the wind he had a gun, I had a grin
You think this story's over but it's ready to begin

"Now I got the gun you got the brew
You got two choices of what you can do
It's not a tough decision as you can see
I can blow you away or you can ride with me"

A great cultural influence across the generations and cultures.

RIP Adam.

I had the pleasure of being at the 2004 concert in Madison Square Garden at which the live video was shot. Absolutely fantastic show, and one of the best time I've had in quite a while. Kickin it with a buddy of mine, blazin the Haze.
Aside from a musical originator, he was just a good person. This can sometimes be rare in entertainers.
Thank you for everything Adam. you will be missed.

You been fully captivated by that funky ass bass
Your girlfriend screams when M.C.A.'s in the place
He stumbles in the room with the Chivas in his hand
Cold chillin' on the spot at the microphone stand

Of course, being a chef, some of my favorite lyrics are those including food. These hungry mofos were always rappin about food. They did a whole episode of Top Chef about it with Adrock as special guest.
Food lyrics like when MCA said :

I'd like a lettuce, tomatoes and Munster on rye
All this cheese is gonna make me cry
Gorgonzola, Provolone Don't even get me started on this microphone

what a massive bummer!!!
Legends!! the first to take skate/punk to a whole new level and then to school most other rappers of there day,

THE REAL OG's!!

I'm seeing blue and red flashing deep in the night
I got my alibi straight and I pulled over to the right
Cop knocked on my window and said Boy where's the fire

My fave was the 1989 Long Beach , Beaste Boys , Whoodini , LLCJ , RunDmc concert was off the hizzle

Seems like a lot of us grew up listening to the Beasties.
When rap used actual instruments.
Sad day for sure, RIP!

I'm bummed to say the least. The first bag I bought we were listening to License To Ill. Threw college and my early 20's Pauls Boutique and Check Your Head were the backgorund. To this day Pauls Boutique is one of my favorite albums. RIP Yauch.

A huge bummer. Looked at a bunch of pix.....last one was of him and his daughter....made me hug my little girl a little tighter tonight......

Paul's Boutique......best rap album EVER.......DISCO DAVE!!!!

Love ya MCA
