Neighbor knows?

So my dad's child hood friend came by my place (I rent from family) he's a painter doing some small work around my house, some light remodeling going on at the moment..
He spotted some guy he did business for in the past down my street, who happens to be my neighbor a few houses down. They exchanged some convo and as random as it is, apparently that guy that he thinks a "kid" grows in the house where I live.. And i don't think my neighbor knew that my dads friend was actually doing work in my house. He came back and told me what the guy said.
Now, i downsized my grow a bit, i've only got a 5x5 tent with 1k running at the moment and 7 plants growing in there. I'm 1 plant over my limit. Still, i don't know how this guy knew about it.. or who else knows... scary stuff

I've done about 4 runs in this house, only time i've ever known my house reeked was right after i chopped my 4k sour d harvest, as my girlfriends sister dropped her off one day for a trim session and said it smelled like heaven down the effing street..
I want to keep growing but I don't want the possibility of pigs running my door down and killing my dogs or anything like that, even if i only have 6 plants and valid documentation. What would you do? Thinking about just quitting until i move down to San Diego in a year.. It'll be a boring ass year!

If he told some random painter, he's told your other neighbors. Too bad your dad's friend didn't squash the guy's theory right then and there. I'm assuming your Dad's friend already knows you grow? It's up to you whether you want to deal with the legal shit even though you are valid. Sounds like in Cali they are looking right past the paperwork lately. You definitely need to seal your windows and doors to the outside with caulking/weather stripping and run an air purifier (with Ozone) full bore when trimming.

Lol, You've seen mine bro. I have a 5 foot tall active air filter with a fan and speed controller in my veg room where I also trim. Had to do something. If I don't run this filter/fan combo while trimming and drying it smells up the house and outer areas. Hung over xx lbs the last several months and no smells in the rest of the house.
BTW, NEVER EVER grow SD unless you have strong odor control. That shit REEKS!!!! lol Been there done that and thinking about doing it again, lol

Problem now is that your neighbor knows, no telling who else he has told and apparently is pretty comfortable telling damn near anyone who will listen about it. That is a HUGE problem for you.
Being a "legal" patient and within your plant count, if leo comes to the door show em your card/paper work, your limit of plants and they should turn around and walk away.

Plant limits did get over ruled, but leo in Cali still know 6 mature or 12 immature. At least in my town it is safer to be within the limits. Is one plant really worth the risk when your neighbors are hip to your operation?

Believe me i've always had two 8" vortex/phresh filter combos with speed controllers running in my living room while trimming. Never thought it was enough, contemplated getting one of those $300 plug in boxes that Rez recommended ways back, with the cartridges.. Easy solution would probably just leave the chem and sours alone for a while..
It's a damn shame that this guy knows because i was just about to downsize again from 1k to a 600 and do a SOG in my bedroom!
The prospect of an easy trim job and being able to run my lights at night with no heat sig appeals to me; atleast 5 choppers a day/night fly right over my place.. Plus i get really overwhelmed with the trim work of 4-6 lbs + work + class bs when i harvest.
Appreciate the insight fellas!

Really wish my painter would have said something like, oh i snooped around when he wasnt around and didn't find anything in the entire house!

I understand that it was deemed unconstitutional, but I was just saying that most leo officers may still take you in if you are over 6. It may be thrown out in court, but is that 1extra plant really worth all the hassle? Especially when your growspot is already known to be compromised? All I was trying to say... ya your right play it safe.the 8 cops that came i nto my pad in sd didnt care how many plants and barely looked at em . they wanted to see paperwork and once they did they got the hell out.

didn't the 2004 kelly decision AKA SB420 do away with plant limits? i thought your in compliance as long as you remain under your total poundage fully processed Ie. trimmed, dried and cured buds or hash.

I'd be surprised if any LEO cares about a seven plant grow op.
I've been harassed by cops after I finished up trimming a larger outdoor grow at a buddies house, sticky fingers and all, they could easily smell the shit and even commented "someones got a grow around here" but nothing ever happened cause everyone knows everybody and there mom is growing here in cali. and thats why any attempts by the government to stop or hassle us is just futile!

just be polite with your neighbors, take precautions, and try and be courteous/inconspicuous about your growing/toking and i don't think you'd have many problems especially since your legit.

I have 2 can 33's 1 scrubs the room(Recirculates the rooms air). The other scrubs the Portable AC... I got a spare can 99 just in case I have a emergency.. Next time he talks to anyone try to get it squashed have them tell him they have been inside and there's nothing growing inside..

damn that would sketch me out. it kind of depends what county you are in. certain places like alameda there are so many big ass grows that a small 600 light setup is no bodys business.....you can probably use the medical defense in court with such a small setup because its easy to prove personal use...just keep the grow clean of "drug dealing" shit like vacseal bags and cash....make it a simple grow house and keep anything of major value or interest to LEO at another clean location.

i would keep growing, your in the bay area for fucks sake! kb got busted with 500+ plants and got probation, my other friend got busted with 350 and a gun and got the same deal.....

but seriously fuck your neighbor...he might drop a dime to the cops, and they will check PGE records and shit which might fuck you over...other factors come into play like previous criminal history, guns, etc.. maybe you gotta switch your style up, start dressing nerdy and square, try not to look like a dope grower/dealer.

shitty,maybe approach the neighbor. Dress/look respectable,be polite and explain what and how you heard what he said. Let him know you are legal/responsible and compliant with your local laws. Or don't do that at all if you think your neighbor is a real douch.
