Which phenotype generally is best for white widow?
I have 4 females out of 6 seeds of black widow/white widow
#1. very tall, Huge Leaves, stretchy side branching
#2&3. Medium height medium leaves not to much side branching.
#4. short &squat, smallest leaves. 1st one to show sex.

Good luck EF! I grew a cut of WW back in the day and have been looking for another pheno of that one. I would not make a decision until you flower them all and choose after a good smoke critic. The one I grew was a long lanky gal that made frost in spades but also outgrew everything else by double in the space. Black Widow is where I will be looking next. Again good luck on the quest.

Mr. Nice does the original Black Widow. I have Pheno #4. She was the first to sex, short, and squat compared to the rest. Don't let that fool you; she takes off in flower and more than doubles triples in size. She finishes in 8 weeks but its better if you wait 9.

Who cares what the vegitative traits are?!??

When you are talking phenotypes the important thing is what the flowers are like. There is no way to know what a pheno is by what it looks like in veg. Just becuase 'grower A' had a dank pheno that was 'medium hieght, medium leaves not much side branching' doesnt mean your 'medium hieght, medium leaves not much side branching' plant will also have dank buds; they may have the same genes for vegitative traits, but not the same genes for flower structure, resin production, etc.

Ive grown ww out quite a few times and not just from mr.nice. I recognize 2 of your pheno's.

The big tall plant is good smoke, but it will mature much faster than the others. I grow outdoors and this pheno is done end of sept. at about 55-60 days and finishes out at about 8'. . This pheno leans hard toward the indica side. The buzz is still that heady confused feel but in 15 minutes your taking a nap. Yield is moderate

The second pheno takes 75 days and has a much headier sativa high. Perhaps it is a bit more potent. Its usually a bit darker green than the tall pheno as well. Yield is a bit heavier.

The last pheno i havent seen so i cant comment. In the outdoors, i chucked the bushier sativa pheno, (#2) simply because it took 2 weeks longer to flower - mid to late oct. and the gain of waiting that length of time did not equal the benefit.

Indoors it may be the pheno to go with, but only if you like a more balanced high.
