Hey Guys is been a while since ive made a thread so here is what ive been up to. I built a new flower room. I wanted it big enough to walk around the whole set up. I planned this system based off the last system I built. It was your basic rdwc and is now my veg room. You can see that in my albums "The RDWC Project". This new system was going to be the same, just with 3 inch Drains and 3/4 in feeds. Well that didnt work out right away. The 3 in uniseals will not seal in 5 gallon buckets unless the walls of the buckets are thick enough. So my next choice had to be square buckets. This system worked fine all winter until the 1st hot day here in MI which was about a week or two ago. My Room temps went up as did my water temp and my 1/15 Chiller couldnt keep up. I needed to have a pump on the outside of the res. So what better time to switch to an Under Current style system than now. In the pics you can see how this all went down. Ive learned almost everything I know from the people in this site. So ask questions and share your knowledge. Thanks Alot GWE

ps. I Guess IC will only allow 5 pics at a time so here come some posts.

i swear to you that having your res temps match your ambient is better for the plants than trying to keep it at 69....

you can find this book online for free if ya role that way but its worth its weight in gold...

I run my rooms at 80-85 because I have co2 and DO levels drop the warmer you get, that along with the increase in disease risk would be some good reasons not to let your water get warm.
Not agreeing or disagreeing, I just have different thoughts/feelings.

That book looks pretty badass.

my current room without co2 is at ~82 light on and my res runs just under that, the difference between fully oxygenated 68f and 80f is less than 2ppm...(running cooler obviously works, but to be truly "optimal"...)

though if your running co2 you should to have your res outside the room.

disease(root rot i assume) is best prevented by proper oxygenation/recirculation and healthy plants.

the book is legit, it is written from a academic perspective, and includes a vast amount of good info.(including the advice i gave;) )

way better than any "mj specific" book.

BTW clean room and nice setup GREEN

The switch from RDWC to UC eliminated the feed lines pump. The lines are still there but just not being used. Now I just have 2 water pumps. The chiller pump and the pump pulling water from one end of the system and flowing to the tee in the res.
