i agree with djonkoman, if gypsy would allow us to discuss politics and religion. and crime and punishment and all thouse fun things we all love to argue over on the net. would indeed atract the texans, the radical fundamentalist texans, so to keep that coud away we have to discuss it elsewhere, sure would love to talk cristianity whit the icmag crowd.
Personally, I see no reason to prevent people from turning into blubbering nincompoops when their pet beliefs are challenged.

can we discuss rez and what happened? i never really read a official post saying we cant. I just try to read between the lines. It is an interesting topic and i know things are still happening i just never read the official icmag stance on the issue such as:

the reason they limit thread from other sites is easy. Have you ever seen a commercial advertising fox news "fair and balanced" on MSNBC. Of course not. Nobody advertises for their competitors.
maybe it is just you. I have never had a restriction talking about any breeder, strain, or anything weed related period, if I am sticking to the weed part and not any drama based around it.

Rez's and GN's lives are not a reality T.V. show for you to be entertained by. Maybe they prefers to keep their private and business lives separate from the public eye.
GN and the rest of the mods have been very nice and respectful to me over the years. They do not ban me even though sometimes I walk on the razor's edge of the TOU, but try not to cross the line. they let me post world political news, for the purpose of informing growers. They only close the thread when members start drama, which happens on page 1 usually. lol. They always give it a fair chance for me. Then most of the time I get a very nice message with a logical reason why they closed the thread.

While I agree gypsy owns the site, I would not call any site on the public domain private. It's like me trying to extend my ownership beyond my land and say I own the air too. Total nonsense. I can see not allowing outright ads for free, but someone should be able to discuss where to get what variety-Gypsy does not offer every variety and not every variety offered is as good a deal as somewhere else, why shouldn't people have a right to know that? Back to the burger example: If I have the best burgers for the best price or my slightly elevated prices are more than compensated for by higher quality, why should I worry if someone in my place is discussing another place. Like someone else said, they are in my restaurant. If you are good, you should not be terrified of competition, you should welcome it! You can more effectively show you are the best that way then by silencing critics (which looks like you have something to hide).
edit: I am stating the way I think things should be, not complaining. Creating forums for free and open discussion and then trying to limit what people say in them seems bizarre to me. Like it or not, forums will always try to be free and open, that is the nature of free discussion no matter who owns the site. Other than way over the top stuff like racism, extremism, promoting crime and perversion, discussion is naturally free and should stay that way.

I have always refrained from plugging my other forums here, even though Gypsy wanted me to (in exchange for plugging icmag on mine)...
But if you want to discuss OTHER topics that are not allowed here, including Politics, Sex, Religion, other drugs including psychedelics and opiates, you can go to http://www.hipforums.com. It is likewise hosted in the Netherlands, and you can discuss any topic there. Those forums are very well moderated. We have mj forums there too, but they're nothing like this, so come back here for your mj posts...
You can still post up most anything in the Toker's Den except for things offensive, trolling or otherwise covered in our Forum Guidelines.
I will warn you that the hipforums are full of 'hip' people, esp. old "hippies", but not all are...
Of course EVERYONE here on icmag is already "hip" or you wouldn't be here...
No that is NOT how ppl get busted who visit this site. What happens is they do something STUPID in the real world, like getting stopped by a cop for a vehicle problem, or getting ratted on by a snitch. People get busted in the Real World for what shit they do in the Real World by cops or Feds who exist in the Real World.
Keep that in mind ppl when you try to sell shit on the outside instead of through secure channels such as Gypsy provides to seed vendors...

I know I don't really need to say this, but I just have to say (lol), as someone who has lived 99% of my life in the south, (including <15 years in Texas), Texas shouldn't be singled out here; it's not just Texas- these people you speak of: Religious Fundamentalists, (or RF's), aren't just all over the south, they're everywhere, (albeit in smaller numbers, in some places.) There are tons of RF's here in Colorado, a state that is often thought of as semi-progressive. And though there are more concentrated populations of RF's in the south, they are plenty of "others" too: there are plenty of liberal/progressive southerners, even Atheists; you can find enclaves of 'different' kinds of people almost anywhere you look.
I do realize however that it's easier conversationally to generalize; it's almost instinctual: 'group like things.'
But, as a rare('ish) progressive southerner, I had to chime in...We do exist!

And just for the record: I try to be conscious of my speech, so that I do not have much of a accent; so yeah, we don't all sound like mush-mouths either.

^some of the greatest people in American History that Liberals love come from Texas. We used to be different. The crazy Evangelicals have become huge and poked a lot more holes in the bible belt.

i have never registered myself elsewhere but at icmag... no other weed forum or another internet forum, no facebook for me etc. im not internet guy.. and first i thought some mods are nazis here
but not so long time ago i registered myself on another weed forum, oh what a mistake icmagers hehe theres no forum, you have to think exactly same like admin there, if not your posts will be deleted constantly, and you will be called by names and theres no chance for any discussion... even if member-admin has no truth you have to agree with him.. by the way he is member here, and almost everybody thinks hes cool guy...
