I've been smoking it since long before most of you were born. That's not a brag - getting old sucks but may as well be honest about it.

I've tried to grow in the distant past, but with zero success. A few years back I got into DWC and have been making it work since for my small personal use grows. I currently have the most elaborate setup ever (though quite simple). I have a propagation cupboard for the first 2 weeks from seed under a 2 ft 4 bulb T5 HO. Then I begin 12/12 early under a 400w hps for 2-3 more weeks, then we go to the main flower area which now uses a cooler as res for each plant and they are under a 600w hps for the last 6-7 weeks.

I have settled on Northern Lights and have grown it almost exclusively for two years now. I use Humboldt Master A&B and several other Humboldt products.

I'm happy with what I'm doing and I get more product than I can use. Still, if I had to complain about something, it would be my yields. On one hand I don't care, but on the other it's kind of an achievement thing. My new setup is designed in part to hopefully fix that.

I feel ya! Getting old sucks! I turned 40 last year. I'm new here too, and I gotta give ya props for the John Prine reference in your username.
I'm preparing for my first ever indoor grow, I've been very successful with a primeau strain outdoors, but this will be a new experiment. I can't wait! I just bought my seeds from the NL tonight. I'm totally psyched, but also little nervous too because I'm also diving straight into a hydrosystem.

I am growing some nl with some cream caramel. The nl stayed small but the cc turned into a big bush with bud sites all over and have taken over. I am afraid the nl will finish first because i grow, flower and cure all in one room. NL is the smallest plant i ever grew after 3 weeks of veg. and they reek. First time i used bud candy and they really brought out the Turpin's in this strain. Nl is supposted to be a low order stain. This maybe done in 56 days. I will let it amber up good.

MY NL can push 5 feet in DWC! I've learned that 63 days is ripe but harvesting at 48-50 (when trichs are about 50% cloudy) gives a great smoke that is more heady than at 63 days. Try taking some early just for a test. Let it dry well and cure just a little before trying it. I'm tempted to start harvesting all my NL early, but one downside is I think it did hurt weight - the buds would have grown a good bit in 2 more weeks.

welcome, IS, i think those last two weeks you get that swelling of the calyxes, and that you lose a bit of mass taking it early, but hey, whatever way you like it is the best way to take it. I've got one I do like that or it's too lethargic.

edit: i wonder how many posts new guys have to make before they get their post count to 1? I see peeps with obviously several and their post count says 0.
