NEVER put a chemical into an unlabelled bottle. A co-worker ingested some acetone that way thinking it was something else.
I work with 30% h202 almost every work day and have never had a problem, but it will burn a bit if you get it on your body. Anything involving splashing means you really need to buy a cheap pair of safety glasses.
72% Nitric acid? I'm not sure why anyone at home would need such a concentrated acid. I used it to dissolve metals in wine for ICP testing...watched a PHD chemist get ambulanced off after she got some on her face. This shit is WAY to dangerous for your average person to handle at home. Even a fume hood was barely enough to deal with the noxious fumes caused by the reaction with wine.

Ouch nice, i managed to get a tiny blob of hard bho stuck to the edge of my eyelid the other day whilst razor blading a little out of a dish.
It was proving difficult to get off and had stuck the lashes together, also slowly going into me eye...
So i though i know i'll just dissolve it with some iso, let me just say iso and eyeballs don't mix well.

I'm on my first bottle of 29% h2o2. The bottle was not sealed and I've always wondered if it was diluted.
It will turn my hands white but so will the 3% stuff. It has no affect on my arm. Should it? I don't want to try it on my eyelid. I thought the stuff would burn like acid, should it?

i used to work ina growshop, some hippy came in proclaiming the benefits of organic living. he drank some Biobizz nutes and said that they were nutes for life not just for plants, Another guy said of peroxide 'its only an extra oxygen atom dude' , note to self:these people are cretins.

guess when it hits soft skin, it does damage....

i hope this thread is a wake up call to anyone that thinks adding ph down is just like adding milk to cornflakes. ideally we should put on glasses and gloves before opening the cap on the phosphoric acid as soon as it's over 30%. or just pour it slowly into a small jug and pour from jug to tank from right above the water. not from far up so it makes a big splash, lol. even after all these years i still always make myself treat the ph down with respect. always close the lid again right after pouring, never leave small amounts of left over standing around in a jug. always back in the bottle if i took too much. but even so i have burned myself on the thigh before by letting a splash of diluted phosphoric acid land on my pants. even though i rinsed fast i still got a burn mark about the size of a silver dollar.

i NOW use a turkey baster for pulling H202 out of the bottle and i stick it into my nutrient and push it out, no air contact anymore!

PH down destroyed the countertop here. I always clean up right away, but it had leaked down the bottle and left a round spot the exact shape of the bottle stained in the counter.
I wouldnt want that shit on my skin. I no longer use PH up or down and only clean with 3% peroxide.
